I am very disappointed with Lilac’s Silk Satin Hair Ties. I ordered this directly from their website. Because I did not spend at least $50 there was a shipping fee. When I noticed that Amazon dropped off a package for me I was surprised to see that it was the hair ties I ordered. My first question is why did I need to pay $6 for shipping fees for a product that they shipped using Amazon Prime for free!? If you try to search for their company name on Amazon it does not come up. I did a reverse image search and discovered that these are firstly not silk satin scrunchies. There is no silk made up of the fabric whatsoever. You can actually buy this exact item from Temu and Ali Express for less than $2. I typed in the information on the back of the package and that is how I discovered the name of their shop on Amazon. The price is also significantly less from Amazon. I need to pay for shipping for the requirement to order from their website when you can purchase on Amazon for free shipping? I don’t appreciate being deceived by this brand. It’s a complete scam to claim it’s silk satin hair tie and not be. And if they ordered off Temu and post for sale with a 600% markup on the hair ties alone. Not to mention the $6 shipping fee when they sent it for free shipping with Amazon.

Update: after emailing by replying with my confirmation number, using an email address on their website, sending a DM on IG AND sending a message via Shop app I finally was responded by the company:

Hello, We just issued a refund for your order. I understand that you feel deceived about the products. We are a very small brand and use Amazon for fulfillment only, as it’s one of the fastest shipping platforms. We often charge for shipping for Thingtesting orders as our margins are significantly lower with the deals offered. Without charging any shipping, we lose a significant amount on each order. As for the products, many of them are labels as “Silk Satin” which is an alternative to silk using a satin weave. We do not advertise “100% Silk” or “Mulberry Silk.” Despite this, we understand how this could be misleading and will be removing “Silk” from our website and products until we are able to offer “100% Mulberry Silk” products. If you would like we can share our profit and loss statements for the products s we strive to be as open with our customers as we can. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you’ll follow along with the brand in the future. All the best, Lilac Sleep Support Team

I emailed thingtester and they said they have no control and these companies can do whatever they want 🤷♀️ extremely disappointing that anyone can claim to be a company. I’m not going to claim many things anymore.

Wow, I haven’t heard back, but that’s upsetting that they are okay with scamming the users.

I felt the same way. I figured they would not want to have businesses that were illegitimate using their platform. The T&C on the company website says you can do a return and they’d send you a label but they of course don’t respond. Total fraud.

Thank you for your feedback! I looked at their website and felt the same way. They are being deceitful by using "Silk" in the product title. I hope thingtesting looks into this, it doesn't seem like a company that aligns with their values.

Seriously! I emailed them about it, too. It definitely seemed like they didn't vet the company and products beforehand. I wasn’t expecting to get duped!
