Would you be ok with the luxury price point of Le Petit Trou if you knew your set would only last six wears before breaking? Despite the beautiful marketing, luxury pricing and stylish store experience, my lingerie set did not hold up in quality and snapped after only wearing it six times. Two years ago, I purchased an expensive lingerie set from Le Petit Trou for formalwear with a specific outfit. I do not find underwire bras or synthetic fabrics comfortable for day-to-day wear so I wore this only on special occasions. After only wearing it six times (I can count the formal occasions), the bra strap snapped. I only ever handwashed the item, and I always stored it safely in its pouch in a drawer, so this is definitely a quality control issue on Le Petit Trou's side. Even if it is two years old, it has not had anything close to two years of wear – six wears is nothing! Nevertheless Le Petit Trou has refused a solution, citing statute of limitations because my purchase was two years and one month ago and the limit is two years. At best, Le Petit Trou offered to look into a repair that I then pay for. I found it deeply insulting that Le Petit Trou would sell a low quality item at a luxury price point, and then ask the consumer to pay for its repair when it breaks down quickly. I might consider the situation differently if I’d worn the piece regularly for two years – though even my low-cost bras are up to that task without snapping. But after only six times wearing it - that’s simply not okay for a "premium" piece. Interactions with customer care were also deeply disingenuous – the way they phrased their response made it sound like the law is holding them back from helping me, using phrases like "we can't offer a refund due to the law." But actually, the brand does have the agency to offer a solution for selling a defective item that couldn't hold up past six wears if they wanted to – they're just choosing not to, because the law means they can get away with it. If I had a luxury brand I would be ashamed that my pieces don't hold up after six wears, and would offer the customer a solution out of goodwill, because it's the moral thing to do when selling a defective item at a luxury price – even if the law means you can get away with not doing so. I would not recommend purchasing here due to the poor quality and lifespan of the product, advertised and priced as premium/ luxury. A real shame as the pieces are so beautiful, but the luxury marketing is clearly smoke and mirrors.

I randomly fell over Le Petit Trou on instagram and instantly went on a hunt to find out where to get them. I absolutely love their styles and everything is so extremele beautiful and well made. They have the prettiest details and patterns, and in my opinion strike the perfect balance between feminine, sexy and pretty. I'm practically only buying lingerie from them from now on. Oh, and then they're sustainable - what's not to like.

Their mesh bras can become a bit itchy throughout an entire day, but it gets better when washed a few times.
