Joseph Bruchac is an American author, poet, and storyteller of Abenaki heritage whose work spans over 120 books of fiction, poetry, and children’s literature. He is widely known for preserving and sharing Native American stories and traditions, particularly from Northeastern Indigenous cultures, through writing, teaching, and live storytelling. He has also served as a poet, educator, and cultural advocate with decades of contributions to literature and Indigenous education.
