Our goal is to make plant based cheeses from natural ingredients that come from the ground. We do it with two of nature’s favorite superfoods: cauliflower + hemp.
We use HEMP as our core ingredient because it’s one of the most environmentally resilient crops on the planet. It’s also rich in essential Omega-3 fats, protein and calcium, and is a great source of vitamin E, magnesium, iron and zinc.
Some of our products also use imperfect cauliflower to get that extra cheesy flavor. It’s full of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, vitamin B6, magnesium and folate, and is high in fibre and antioxidants (which are known to protect the body’s cells from free radicals and inflammation).
All Grounded products are Nut Free, Soy Free, Certified Gluten Free, Keto and Certified Non-GMO.
Grounded was founded by two Aussies: an award winning pastry chef (that's Shaun) and his wife Veronica, who decided to take Shaun's recipes and build a plant based cheese empire from them. They started with $700 in their joint bank account and a rental car. Now they live in LA and make all their products in California using local and sustainably-sourced ingredients. They're still broke but that's part of startup life.
