Coconut Cartel was founded in 2012 by Danielle and Mike Zig, a brother/sister duo importing fresh coconuts from El Salvador to every pool bar & beach chair up the east coast. Danielle's favorite way to serve the coconuts was spiked with a shot of aged rum. In 2019, inspired by the success of their coconut cocktails, the Zigs launched a unique rum blend made with Guatemalan aged rum and their namesake coconut water. The rum is aged in American white oak barrels between 4-12 years and has no artificial flavors or coloring. Tasting notes: Tropical aromas of fresh coconut with hints of banana, mango and vanilla. Upon tasting, notes of plantain, caramel, sandalwood, and burnt brown sugar come forward, with coconut making a subtle appearance alongside a flint of minerality from the coconut water.
