I founded Buttercup a few weeks after the sudden realization that I hated all of my bras. My underwired ones were demonically uncomfortable and unnecessarily sexy (some days that's just not what you want!), and all of the comfy-looking ones I could find online resembled orthopaedic shoes but for boobs. I knew what I wanted. An informal, every day bra that was meant to be cute and pretty, not sexy. It had to be super comfy (no wires, lace or poky bits) and it had to be supportive. I registered the company, my friend Chloe came up with the name Buttercup, and I was off to the races! For now we just make one shape. But more are coming! We’re working on two new silhouettes and five new prints, all designed by artists in Australia and the USA.
