BIG YANK is an American heritage workwear brand originally founded in 1919 in Chicago by the Reliance Manufacturing Company. Known for its functional design philosophy, the brand became iconic for innovations such as asymmetrical chest pockets (“gacha pockets”) and other utility-driven details that prioritize durability, comfort, and practicality. After a period of disappearance in the 1980s, the brand was revived in 2012 and continues to produce reproduction and updated workwear rooted in its archival designs while maintaining a strong focus on craftsmanship and utility.
