How you feel is at the core of our mission and the guiding principle for formulating BASAL’s Fundamental Meal. Each ingredient has been mindfully selected, distilling what the body needs at its basis, with the central idea that by promoting one’s physiological health, we can also positively affect one’s emotional state. To us, both how you feel in the moment and how you feel afterwards are of equal importance. Understanding that there are barriers towards always eating nourishing meals - time, cost, accessibility - we decided that simplicity was a necessary attribute towards promoting how you feel. Fundamental Meal is an everyday solution that is effortless to prepare and shipped free directly to your door. We did not set out with the intention to replace all meals, or even take away from the enjoyment of experiential meals, but to celebrate and promote the role that fundamental meals serve in our lives. Our unique formulation consists of a diverse collection of 18 plant ingredients designed to promote physiological well-being. Each Fundamental Meal contains 24 g of protein, 7 g of fibre, 1.8 g of omegas, and all essential vitamins and minerals from plant derived sources. YELLOW PEA AND BROWN RICE PROTEINS Our unique plant-based protein blend provides a full spectrum amino acid protein profile that is equivalent to or better than most dairy-based sources and has been optimized for digestibility. FAIRTRADE COCOA Prized for its deep colour and velvety smoothness, our fairtrade cocoa tastes delicious and supplies antioxidants, diverse nutrients, and a small quantity of naturally occurring caffeine. COCONUT MCT OIL Our MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil is derived from coconuts and provides rapidly digesting fatty acids that have gained repute for their positive impact on physiological health. BROWN RICE FLOUR Crafted from Californian rice, our brown rice flour furnishes long-lasting energy and satiation from protein, carbohydrates, and fibre, while contributing essential vitamins and minerals. NATURALLY SOURCED ORGANIC FRUIT & VEGETABLE BLEND Organic broccoli, spinach, kale, pumpkin, sweet potato, sunflower seed, cranberry, chlorella, maitake mushroom, and shiitake mushroom are artfully integrated to provide a diverse contribution of essential vitamins and minerals. ORGANIC ERYTHRITOL Naturally occurring in many fruits and vegetables, our organic erythritol is made by fermenting glucose with Moniliella pollens, an organic microorganism, and provides subtle sweetness while maintaining digestibility. ORGANIC CANADIAN MAPLE SUGAR Used as a natural sweetener for thousands of years, our Canadian grown organic maple sugar provides delicious taste while also contributing diverse essential nutrients. HEMP SEED OIL A significant source of omegas 3 and 6, our hemp seed oil is derived from North American hemp and provides these fatty acids in an ideal 3:1 ratio.
