Reviews mention

  • Luxurious, earthy fragrance profiles
  • Elegant, minimalist packaging
  • Indulgent, sensorial hand washes
  • Compliment-worthy, unisex perfumes
  • Excessive, premium price point
  • Inconsistent perfume scent longevity
  • Plastic, leaky pump bottles
  • Irritating, fragrance-heavy skincare

Aesop earns strong reviews for luxurious scents, elegant packaging, and body-care standouts like Resurrection and Reverence Aromatique Hand Washes, yet opinions split on value. Reviews praise sensorial formulas that feel indulgent and often effective for hands and body, while noting weaknesses: high prices, plastic/leaky pumps, perfumes with short longevity, and some skincare that irritates sensitive skin or underperforms.

  • If I had a million dollars I would buy Aesop's entire suite of skin care and home products. I've tried their perfumes (Marrakech Intense, Rozu); Parsley Seed skin products; Amber & Petitgrain hand soap; and both lotions. Everything has smelled like literal heaven and made me feel like angels were smiling upon me. I will be devoted to this brand FOR LIFE and let us all pray someday I strike it rich so I can afford it all AMEN!!!

They know exactly what they're doing and I have no notes. Also love the Paris Review collab, two companies I love joining forces

  • I think that the in store experience is amazing. The products are good, but I do not know if it is catered towards my body and hair. Takes a lot more of each product than expected to get the job done.

    Feedback

Better online store to let people figure out what products works best for their type of hair and their lifestyle.

  • Hand cream is amazing. Not sticky and oily at all but will keep hands moisturized for hours. Helps me survive the winter by preventing cracks in skin. As a RN, I wash my hands a lot and my friends get dry really quickly but these help moisturize it without the oily feeling.

    Feedback

Hand cream has a lot of product in it. More often than not once I've used more than half of the product the packaging still split and the product will spill out.

  • Incredible quality of products. I've bought the hand soap and balm in the scent "Resurrection Aromatique" and it feels SO luxurious. The scent is refreshing and bold but not overpowering. Every time I have guests over, they gush over how much they love the scent and feel of these products. They're pricey but last forever and so worth it.

  • I discovered Aesop in Australia while traveling a few years ago. I love how clean and quality it is. My favorite product is the facial scrub -- it's a fine paste and is a great (yet gentle) exfoliator.

    Feedback

I think it's quality from start to finish. It's at a luxury price point, so if you're on a strict budget, this might not be for you.

  • Aesop is a leading brand for me because of its unique, earthy scents that are special but not overpowering. I am a loyal Aesop customer despite the high price point of most of the products also because of the great in store customer experience and design of the retail locations.

  • Everything about Aesop is great. Their ethos, products, storefronts - everything is high quality, effective, and worth the price. The haircare wasn't for me, but I love the skin and body care products.

  • It's the celebrity choice of hand soap for a reason. It feels luxurious, smells luxurious, and looks luxurious. I really do love washing my hands when I spot an Aesop, and just walking into an Aesop store alone makes me feel like I deserve all the self-care in the world. When I get my mid-30s mansion, this will be my hand soap of choice but for now, I cannot justify the experience with the buck I'm paying. But if you can - then I am very very very jealous of you.

Can they improve the price point? Probably not. Probably shouldn't.

  • I don't even care if Aesop works or not, the packaging and smell is so good that it doesn't matter. Products look great on a bathroom counter and exude luxury.

    more product for the price

  • Tested a plethora of products from Aesop. A few personal favorites: body scrub sublime night mask cleansing milk violet hair balm I have the best in-store experiences as staff are pretty friendly which is nice but definitely not expected. While I haven’t tested them all, I really think their fragrance line shines through.

    Feedback

Aesop is the furthest thing from affordable which is an obvious deterrent.

  • I have used several Aesop products over the years. Their classic shampoo and conditioner was a staple until they changed the formula. Unfortunately I think I was just allergic to it. Their skin care is incredible the in two minds has done incredible things for my combination skin. I also love the samples in every order.

    Feedback

I wish the classic shampoo and conditioner would come back.

  • Obsessed with the hand soap, actually the best purchase i’ve made in the last year.

  • Aesop is one of those brands I wanted to think was overrated but it was not! I bought one of their hand soaps for my bathroom as a self care treat. I can t believe I spent $50 on hand soap. But let me tell you, every single time I wash my hands, I take a big sniff because I LOVE the scent. The matching lotion is moisturizing but not greasy. It is expensive but it is one of those things I'm willing to invest in because it makes me so dang happy.

    Feedback

The price is expensive, but that is the only downside.

  • Luxury packaging and great range of scents.

    Feedback

    Soaps are not very moisturizing.

  • Great scent and suds from the hand soap.

    Feedback

A bit on the pricey side, but worth it for the luxurious scents.

  • Aesop is just the best. It's so chic and high-quality. They make one of my very favorite fragrances, Tacit. I've also tried their hand lotion (lovely), and my fiance loves their hair gel.

  • I love this brand fully and its probably closer to a 4.5 than 4 but the problem is the pricing. While it is high quality, some of the products are inflated. The fragrances are great but no were near $200 and should be dropped down. If this in general were 20% cheaper this would be an easy 5 stars.

    price needs to be lower

  • Aesop soaps are incredibly high-quality with luxurious scents. The packaging is very simple and attractive and there stores offer a great experience for trying out the product. The reverence hand soap I purchased feels great on the skin with exfoliating pumice.

    Feedback

    Very expensive

  • Aesop's soaps provide a luxury experience. The ground up pumice provides a very unique texture that is the standout feature. The scents are also interesting and very "adult".

    Feedback

This is admittedly a higher end brand- the packaging is minimalistic but not unrecognizable, not necessarily a work of art. The scents are more refined and may be too subdued to justify the price tag, compared to generally pleasing fruity or clean scents.

  • i love aesop! i know if i’m eating at a restaurant that has aesop in their bathroom that the meal is going to be delicious. the smells are so unique and earthy.

    Feedback

i wish the bottles were glass and they had recyclable refills. it’s not enough to have the refills be in the normal bottle without the dispenser top.
