Congrats on launching Winx Health! What was the thought process behind the rebrand of Stix?

Thank you so much! We couldn’t be more excited that it’s finally here! Winx Health is an unapologetic evolution from our pioneer brand, Stix – not leaving our roots behind but blazing a new trail forwards. Since we launched Stix in 2019 with a single pregnancy test, we’ve expanded into more comprehensive vaginal and reproductive care, with a huge focus on sex education. We realized that our impact wasn't confined to the moments of waiting for a single line or two on a pregnancy test. Instead, it was about the broader spectrum of health and well-being, the empowerment in making informed decisions, and the confidence in taking control of your health. We wanted a name that really reflected that.

Winx Health is a testament to the five year evolution of the brand, to answer the full spectrum of women’s health needs with understanding, respect and support. The name itself is a nod to a wink, embodying our key promises of discretion, empowerment, and trusted connection with our community! Winx Health is here to ensure that no question is too small, and no concern is too trivial.

Tell me about your decision to align the rebrand with the anniversary of the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision.

It’s been two years since the Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade and protections for abortion access. In the time since - we’ve seen a massive attack on women’s health and reproductive rights with restrictive abortion bans, and even conversations about the right to contraception in general.

Now more than ever, conversations around women’s health and reproductive justice are crucial. It’s a critical election year, and as we’re evolving into this new era as Winx Health we want to be an even louder advocate for women’s health. The timing is intentional to help point to resources, like our emergency contraceptive pill Restart which we launched in the wake of the original decision, and the efforts we’re continuing to make as we continue to support these conversations. Our partnership with Kerry Washington will amplify these education, awareness and advocacy efforts to help our mission of empowering women to make confident choices about their own health.

What prompted you to launch your UTI Test + Treat product?

Urinary tract infections are the most common outpatient infection, affecting 50–60% of adult women. As a result, UTIs cause more than 81 million visits to doctors offices annually. If you’ve experienced the painful infection, quick, easy relief is key. But unlike many other common infections, there isn’t a solution readily available over the counter - leading people to drop hundreds of dollars in care at Urgent Cares for after hour visits, or spend hours in a waiting room or even trying to get an appointment.

Our UTI Test & Treat product is cutting through these issues to bring quick, affordable, care for our community. The at-home digital diagnosis test and access to treatment is the first-of-its-kind solution. Unlike other tests on the market that require confusing color matching, our digital, scannable results provide a clear answer on the presence of a UTI, and connect you directly with a doctor via SMS for a prescription if needed.

Walk me through the “real talk” section of your website. Why is it important to the Winx Health team to have critical conversations about sexual healthcare, relationships, and abortion rights?

Empowerment starts with knowledge. That’s why Winx Health launched Real Talk, our online ultimate guide to sex (education), reproductive rights, and those pressing “WTF is going on down there?!” questions. It's not just about having resources; it's about having the right ones, and Real Talk has been crafted to be exactly that—an authentic, reliable source of medically-credible, accurate education.

Our hub of more than 900 medically-reviewed content provides accurate and reliable answers. Written by GenZ, for GenZ we’re answering the questions without judgment, shame and even bringing in cultural moments too as a teaching mechanism.

Initially, Real Talk was envisioned as a supplemental resource, a place to deepen understanding of the products Winx Health offers and the health issues they address. However, it has evolved into much more—an indispensable educational hub akin to Gen Z’s WebMD. Here, straightforward, approachable content meets the curiosity of thousands, transforming feelings of embarrassment or shame, to feelings of empowerment and confidence.

Free, helpful, and relatable education is a powerful tool in Winx Health’s arsenal. Winx Health is more than a brand; they are creating a revolution in women’s health empowerment, proving time and again that when education and empowerment align, the impact is profound.

Where do you see Winx Health in 5 years? In 10 years?

We believe at-home diagnostics are the key to women’s health! When we think about education and access, having the ability to clearly diagnose the problem you’re facing is essential to treating it properly. We want to show up for our customers with these solutions wherever they are - expanding to more retail partners, and more testing and products.

We will continue to be an advocate for our community at every step of their health journeys, without judgment but with discretion, support and trust! We’re excited for the path we’re blazing forward.

What can the Thingtesting community do to support the reproductive justice movement?

Your voice matters! Many of the reproductive regulations that have gone into effect this year will be on the ballot as early as November. We’re compiling voting guides and information so that people know what’s on the line and can make informed choices to vote and protect reproductive rights.

It’s easy to feel discouraged with the ongoing news cycle of new bans and regulations. We started our Restart Donation Bank, where anyone can donate a dose of emergency contraception for someone in need. Even if you aren’t impacted directly, this helps everyone receive access to care they might need - no questions asked. Thanks to the power of our community, we’ve donated more than 30,000 doses of emergency contraception to date.
