Hi! I’m Laina, originally from Connecticut and currently in the process of moving to the Hudson Valley with my husband and our pit bull, Special Agent Dale Cooper. I work as the Customer Relations Manager at Tombolo, where I get to connect with people and solve problems every day (which I weirdly love).
I’m always on the lookout for new brands to try, especially in the beauty, food, and wellness spaces, and nothing makes me happier than discovering a really cool new brand and passing it along. I’m powered by caffeine, wine, and Real Housewives marathons.
How did you first discover Thingtesting, and what motivated you to start reviewing products?
I believe I found Thingtesting through LinkedIn, but it’s been so long that I genuinely can’t remember. I’ve discovered and tested so many cool brands that I never would have heard of if not for Thingtesting. I love the honesty of the reviewers in an age of sponsored content, and it’s refreshing to be part of a community that values real opinions.
What's your favorite part of being a Thingtester?
I love any time I see that someone found one of my reviews useful. It feels like I’m telling my best friends about something really cool I found. Being able to share those discoveries with a curious and honest community makes writing reviews feel genuinely rewarding.
What are your 5 favorite brands, and what makes them stand out to you?
Wip: I started by testing them out and now I’m completely hooked. I love caffeine, and their products keep me going every day.
Grüns: I genuinely look forward to eating them every day, and they’ve definitely improved my focus.
Wims!: They taste great, and the packaging is so fun and well-designed.
Tanning Club: I’m obsessed with their sunscreens and used them exclusively all summer.
Bombas: They’re the only socks I wear. So comfortable, and they come in a million different colors and styles.
What are your 5 favorite products of all time?
Ninja Creami Deluxe: I never shut up about this thing. I’m obsessed!
Coriander Perfume by D.S. & Durga: It’s my signature scent, and I wear it every day.
Sonos Move: It’s amazing and totally worth the investment.
Pendleton Wool Blankets: They’re so cozy and timeless. I never want to live without mine.
Wandering Bear Cold Brew Straight Black: I drink it every morning, and it always tastes incredible.
