Meet Supertester, Cash Tieman
Meet Cash: incoming Stanford freshman, proud “coupon mom,” and lifelong collector of obsessions. Before joining Thingtesting, he was already a seasoned reviewer, posting takes on everything from late-night impulse buys to family adventures. When he’s not busy snagging free products or calling out the duds, he’s cheering on scrappy new brands and swapping takes with the community. For Cash, testing products isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way to shape the shelves of the future (and score a few bragging rights along the way).

Hi Cash! Introduce yourself to the readers:
Hi! I’m Cash Tieman, an incoming freshman at Stanford University. I love experimenting with new hobbies, trying out brands I haven’t seen before, and when I’m not busy with school, digging into design and startup culture.
How did you first discover Thingtesting, and what motivated you to start reviewing products?
While “Supertester” sounds impressive, my friends prefer to call me a “coupon mom,” partly because I am always scoring free or discounted products to test and review. I’ve been reviewing on Amazon, TripAdvisor, and pretty much anywhere you can leave a star rating for years, but it wasn’t until I earned the title of Supertester on Thingtesting that my passion for reviews truly felt like it could make a difference. After finding Thingtesting through a few smaller brands I follow on Instagram, I loved the idea that my feedback could actually help shape a brand’s future. This community encourages honest, high-quality reviews (brutally when needed), so every review feels like it genuinely matters to both shoppers and founders.
What's your favorite part of being a Thingtester?
Thingdrop is one of the best perks. I love getting an early peek (and often a discount) on products before they hit big retail. There is nothing like watching a small brand you believed in go from “never heard of it” to “nationwide shelves.” But hands down, my favorite part is the Supertester community. It is an incredible mix of brilliant founders, passionate reviewers, and curious consumers all exchanging ideas and insights. Watching people take the leap into TikTok, start a marketing agency, or launch their own products has been truly inspiring. Being surrounded by that kind of energy makes you want to dream bigger too. In fact, it inspired me so much that I even wrote about this community in my college applications.
What are your 5 favorite brands, and what makes them stand out to you?
Vuori – Not only local to my hometown, but their apparel is extremely comfortable while also being functional for sports and travel.
Liberty Puzzles – Gorgeous, heirloom-quality wooden puzzles that make you slow down and spend quality time with family and friends.
Alec’s Ice Cream – Organic, regenerative dairy that tastes as good as it does good. Their unique flavor combinations are impossible to beat.
Sun Bum– Another local staple that has the best line of classic banana-scented sunscreen and personal care. They also play a big role in supporting our SoCal community and charities.
Ayoh – A newer launch that has quickly become a kitchen necessity. As a big Molly Baz fan, the flavored trio of mayo finds its way into almost every meal.
What are your 5 favorite products of all time?
Owala FreeSip – The perfect water bottle for both chugging and sipping (yes, there’s a difference).
Apple MacBook Air – A dependable daily essential that balances power and portability.
Nike Dunk Low Retro – Timeless style and comfort that never go out of fashion.
Olipop Vintage Cola – A better-for-you soda that nails the balance of sweetness and fizz.
Allbirds Wool Runners – Comfortable, sustainable, and versatile enough for everyday wear.
Anything else you'd like to share?
P.S. If you ever find yourself debating whether to try the quirky snack in the New Arrivals aisle, just do it. Best case, you find a new favorite. Worst case, you have a story to tell (and likely a Thingtesting review to write).
