Challenge
Blobs, a better-for-you candy brand, was in the process of pitching its products to large retailers but was struggling to do so because it was newer to the market. Though Blobs didn't have an established community or social media presence just yet, they were able to conduct a trial with Sprouts that would hopefully lead to more relationships with stores in the future — which meant the trial's success was imperative.
Solution
Blobs offered Thingtesting community members one free bag of candy with a purchase. The brand's campaign drove roughly 525 shoppers to Sprouts locations across 20+ states. Blobs founder, Mike Schanbacher, noted that the company's candy was one of the top-selling products in the overall Sprouts trial program amongst multiple brands. He credits Thingtesting Growth Tools as responsible for driving $20,300 in sales.
Blobs tapped into the Thingtesting community to collect product feedback and build out social proof. Based on Blob’s campaign survey responses, 68% of shoppers had never heard of the brand prior to Thingtesting.
