    Yoseka Stationery

My favorite stationery shop in Brooklyn — premium writing tools and paper goods (with surprisingly affordable prices!) in a tucked away corner of Greenpoint. I've been coming here for years! If you’re in the market for some amazing Japanese pens or notebooks like the famed Hobonichi planner, this is a solid foray into the world of stationery. Lots of popular imported brands and even a nice custom binding station. Notebooks and accessories line the walls, and there’s a huge selection of ball-point pens, fountain pens, highlighters, and several shelves of stickers and stamps. The employees are very friendly and the best part is: plenty of testers. It’s lovely to pop in one afternoon to just try out all the different pens and get a feel for which textures and inks you enjoy most. Beware, the influencer girlies got to it, so be prepared for crowded weekends.

This is an American heritage brand that screams luxury, right down to the box the perfume came in, carrying on the New England apothecary identity in their scents and designs. The fragrance I purchased was created (and named) for an actress and it feels as Old-Hollywood glamorous as it sounds. The packaging is eye-catching and the scent has impressive lasting power. If you're already in the habit of romanticizing your life while you sashay around in a silk robe, this is a must-buy.

Beam is truly a “good vibes only” home decor location. Amazing resource for independent and trendy home design brands — if you’re looking for something specific or just hoping to discover something unexpected, this is a great place to browse. The selection is always being updated and the products sourced are always high-quality and colorful. I recently picked up a soap dish from there, which is such an unassuming item that turned into a fun design opportunity.

Great fragrances with depth, charming names, and cute packaging! The brand is POC woman-owned and focuses on interesting, modernized interpretations of classic scents. The fragrances are nature-based, acutely emotional, and make for a really cool answer when someone inevitably asks “what are you wearing?” This is a splurge with good options for seasonal daily drivers, versatile enough for layering or wearing solo.

    STRANGE WATER

You're really just paying for the branding on this one. I loved the colorful can and groovy type, so I bought the sparkling version. It just felt and tasted bizarre. For fans of coconut water, the regular "still" coconut water is best chilled. For fans of coconut-forward mocktails/cocktails, I'm sure the sparkling could be used as a mixer. There are similar tasting coconut waters out there that are also non-GMO and cruelty-free, so it's difficult to justify the price of Strange Water. Also, the website is pretty sparse and there's limited information about the production process or company sustainability practices.

I'm still new to the world of mechanical keyboards, but this was a really amazing first purchase. I love the colorful keys and the weighty, premium feel of the case. It looks great on my desk and I'm convinced that it's made me more productive — I’m actually enjoying the tactile feedback of typing. The keys don't feel plastic-y or cheap and the actual keystrokes are really comfortable and make a smoother sound (not loud or clacky). The switches and keycaps are also fully customizable, so I can try out different types of keys in the future if I want, but the base model is solid as is. It's compatible with my Mac, it has both Bluetooth and wired connections, and there's even a variety of colorful backlight settings. One thing to note is that shipping can take a long time for new releases or pre-order keyboards, as they ship from the manufacturer. My keyboard was in stock when I bought it, and it arrived in a little over a week.

I've been wearing Camper shoes for years — they are easily my favorite shoe brand. Always great leather, comfortable wearing, and on-trend designs that aren't trying too hard. If you're looking for laidback looks that are somehow modern and classic at once, that you plan to use for multiple seasons, this is one of my most trusted and frequent recommendations! Honestly, my most reliable shoe brand that I will continue to love and purchase from for many years to come.

This is such a rare and interesting brand! I love it when the packaging makes your fragrances look like art pieces on your dresser. Each of the bottle toppers look like planets, and they look the way each fragrance smells, with a different design on each scent. And the range of scents is totally unique and thoughtful. They all have stories around them, usually focused on a particular mythology involving plants and natural phenomena. Definitely worth trying a discovery set to test out the whole collection because some of the scents are so unexpected and creative (like "fog").

THE PACKAGING. The full-sized bottles each have a beautiful, sculptural topper and even the colors of the fragrances are bright and eye-catching. The scents themselves pack a pretty powerful punch — definitely really head-turning and complex, but probably aimed at more seasoned fragrance lovers. I bought the discovery set and liked each of the options, but didn’t love any one scent enough to justify spending full price on a standard-size bottle. If you’re a sucker for artful, luxury packaging (and the scent smells good on you), definitely worth getting one — these designs will absolutely steal the show on your fragrance shelf.

    Le Manoir

I love love love the gel polish I bought because it’s the perfect pinky nude color — looks so put together without a ton of effort and has saved me literally hundreds of dollars on gel manicures at the salon. Super easy to use, great color options, quick cure on the gel, and really amazing finishes. They even have a starter kit to help you do your own gel nails at home. And there’s also a ton of other nailcare products and tools if you’re the kind of person who wants to give yourself manicures at home that feel a bit more professional. Shipping did take a little while because it came internationally to New York (it’s a Canadian brand).
