  • Videri just makes really REALLY good chocolate and truffles. If you're local to Raleigh, NC or the surrounding area, go visit because they're also an incredibly kind, knowledgeable team of people. Their chocolate tasting was the first in which I could actually taste a flavor note like "cherry" when a chocolate bar was claiming to have that tasting note. They also don't use any fillers like soy lecithin in their bars, which I love. I will say, I haven't had a bar of chocolate from them that isn't great. Other brands, I'll intentionally skip some flavors. I like everything I've had from Videri, but I do have favorites. Every bar is perfectly tempered so each piece really snaps when you break it off, and the texture is so smooth. You truly can't go wrong, but these are the stand outs for me: 1) 70% Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt: I'm a salty-sweet person, so I'm biased here. 2) 90% Ecuador Dark Chocolate: I can actually taste the blueberry tasting note in this 3) 75% Tanzania Dark Chocolate: A very clear cherry tasting note that's so unique But DO NOT skip getting some truffles and/or candy bars because they do these exceptionally well, too. The Chewy Salted Caramel and Mystic Bourbon Ganache truffles are fantastic, but so is their Salted Caramel Crunch Candy Bar. If you're in the Raleigh area, stop by the store and see if they have their homemade marshmallows. It's not a truffle but they bring their high quality craftsmanship to that, too, and it's a stand out.
