  • Buttery flavor profile
  • Crispy, addictive texture
  • High-quality chocolate chips
  • Excellent gluten-free execution
  • Overly crunchy texture
  • Occasionally too sweet
  • Crumbly, breakage-prone cookies
  • Stales quickly after opening

Tate’s Bake Shop earns glowing reviews for thin, crisp, buttery cookies—especially the classic and gluten-free chocolate chip—which many call the best store-bought option, close to homemade. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: the cookies are very crunchy (divisive for chewy-cookie fans), sometimes too sweet or oily, crumbly, go stale quickly in the bag, and feel sparse per package.

  • My daughter has celiac disease and we have discovered that most gluten free items do not taste as good as their gluteny counterparts - with the exception of Tate's gluten free chocolate chip cookies! These are our go-to dessert to have around the house for when she needs something sweet, or we are going to a family event and need to bring a dessert that she can eat. The rest of us love them too, so I have to hide them from the rest of the family!

  • These are my go-to chocolate chip cookies! As someone who doesn't have the best self control I love that they are packaged in smaller quantities, and the flavour is the best I've had from store-bought cookies. Highly recommend giving these a try, and they even have seasonal flavours like pumpkin spice with white chocolate chips!

  • Ultra thin crispy delcious cookies. These are incredible. In the unlikely event that the bag of opened cookies hangs around for a bit, I'll warn you that these seem to go a bit stale quicker than mass produced bags of cookies.

  • If you put these out on a plate, people would not believe they weren't homemade. They are, on the thin side, but very wide, making for a nice crispy edge with a soft middle. I have tried their chocolate chip, and it is in the top 5 I've ever eaten--and I know my chocolate chips. However, I was subbed their white chocolate macadamia nut cookies instead of the choco chips I'd ordered for a grocery pickup--I almost didn't try them, but they instantly became my new favorite! Hubs lives the oatmeal raisin! I just discovered they have a lemon cookie, cannot WAIT to try that!
