Smash Foods earns strong reviews for tasting like a fresher, lower‑sugar alternative to conventional jams, with clean, simple ingredients, chia‑boosted fiber, and standout flavors like Raspberry, Blueberry, Peach, and Cherry. Reviews also flag drawbacks: visible chia and fruit seeds that can feel gritty, date sweetness that can mute bright fruit notes, quicker spoilage, and mixed feedback on ancillary items like Toasties and drier snack‑bite flavors.

I’ve been on a health kick recently so I am glad that I found this product! I love how it is made with natural ingredients and that it contains a superfood like chia seeds!

Smash Foods Chia jam gets points for the healthy boost from chia seeds, but the flavors blur together and it’s way too pricey for what you get. I prefer chunkier, more distinct preserves.
this stuff is so good!! and it's so good for you somehow? i tried the raspberry one and i will def be repurchasing, try it out!
They use dates to naturally sweeten these jams, which is a clever way to replace the processed sugar. For me, the date flavor came through too much and made the jams taste kind of heavy and "cooked" for lack of a better word. The fresh strawberry taste I expected was kind of hidden. I think these are good, sweet spreads that will taste better if you don't expect then to replicate the jams you know from childhood.
I wanted to find a healthy alternative to regular sugary jams and I really love what they are doing over at smash. I liked that you could buy the sachets to try a few flavors before buying. Also great for traveling too. I love the cherry and the blueberry flavors. I would say the price is a little on the steep side for the jar size. however I do love the brand and will continue to purchase.
I LOVE these upcycled jams-amazing how high quality upcycled fruit (berries or fruit that is featured on the package) is the first ingredient and the date sweetening works really well. I've tried blueberry and strawberry and found blueberry is EPIC; strawberry tastes kind of like applesauce, not bad but I wouldn't recommend as highly as blueberry for sure!
This is my new favorite jam/jelly. I've tried multiple flavors and love them all. This is the perfect topping for chia seed pudding.

These are tasty but pretty pricy for what they are. A great toddler alternative to regular jelly. I’d buy again.
I saw this at Sprouts and was interested in trying it. I am always looking for toppings to add to my Greek yogurt I eat daily to keep things interesting. This is delicious on plain Greek yogurt, with honey, grain free granola, and almond butter. Delicious! Works for breakfast or dessert!

Love the clean, simple ingredients. I love the raspberry fruit spread flavor with peanut butter on a crusty sourdough for an elevated PB&J. I've tried all 4 of their snack bites, and they're a great, quick, delicious snack with a pretty good dose of protein.
I really enjoy the flavor and texture of this product. If you don’t like chia seeds you won’t like it. I appreciate that it isn’t overly sweet like standard jams/jellies and has the added benefit of fiber.
Our family including our 2 year old loves these jams. We put them in yogurt, oatmeal, on toast, croissants, etc. such a nice product and healthier alternative to other jams.
Super yummy and flavorful! Really appreciate the lower sugar content in this jam and that it contains chia seeds for additional nutrients. My toddler even loves it!

I tried the traditional grape jelly version. I really enjoyed it in my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. At first I didn't like the chia seed crunch in it, but it grew on me over time. I plan to purchase again in the future.
This brand is SUCH a game changer! There are so many jams out there who claim to be "better for you" yet add a number of different additives, fillers, sugars, etc. Smashi keeps things REAL with whole, real, and simple ingredients I can feel good about consuming. I like to make my own chia jam, but sometimes I just don't have the time and need a delicious alternative I can grab at the store. Smashi has been a lifesaver; and their travel packets are PERFECT for this teacher and world-traveler.
My toddler doesn't have refined sugar, so this has been the PERFECT way for me to introduce PB&J! She loves it! We also just tried their snack bites, and they were a hit!

I am absolutly in LOVE with the raspberry chia smash jam!!! I will never go back to regular jelly for my peanut butter and jelly. The texture is perfect, the taste is incredible, and I don't have to worry about extra added sugars and junk ingredients.

Got this for my mom because she’s a diabetic and the low sugar content of this is great. She’s so happy with this alternative and always asks me to keep sending her more jars. Also, I think it tastes better than real jam!!

Both snack bites make a great travel snack! They have a decent amount of protein, but they taste like real food. They have a good texture - not too dry and crumbly. I originally found the pb&j snack bites on Target's website and then the chocolate raspberry snack bites at Whole Foods. The chocolate raspberry snack bites were a bit dryer than the pb&j ones, but I've still repurchased both several times!
