Horrifying - and I mean that in a GOOD way! The amount of dead skin that "sluff"ed off was gross but satisfying. I get really dry skin in winter, but it's summer here now and I have combination sweaty/flaky skin which is annoying. It doesn't feel comfortable to put on lotion multiple times a day. I chose Sluff to see if it would help. I tried a few different dry brushes but they just revealed more flakes and did not exfoliate completely. This did the job! I used a lot of pressure as instructed, which created a little redness but that went away and revealed very smooth skin and the flakes did not return after my skin dried. I did use a good amount of CeraVe cream afterwards The packaging was really cute and includes a resealable storage bag, sluff mitt, helpful instruction card, special soap, and lotion. It also included a temporary tattoo to "train" you how hard of pressure you need for an effective sluff. I thought that was a nice touch. It's important to follow the instructions and order of operations. Also, you do have to stay out of the stream of water when "sluff"-ing. Follow the cute illustrated instruction card. I knocked off a star because the subscription is really pricy for bar soap and lotion. I found the lotion so off-putting I had to wash off the small area I tested it on. I love eucalyptus but this scent was really unpleasant to me. Everyone is different when it comes to scents, so you might like it. I will not continue the subscription, but I will definitely get a lot of use out of the mitt.
