    Their product is fine, nothing to write home about. What I don’t like about the simplisafe ecosystem is the support (or lack there of). The one time I had to call to get help regarding an accidental alarm trigger, the support agent was not helpful. I do appreciate that the products still work even without a subscription

    I purchased a SimpliSafe monitoring package in November 2023, with a base system, about a dozen entry sensors, two outdoor cameras, and a motion sensor camera. Decent pricing for a self-install system, the app to control the system is easy to use, and the self-install is pretty straightforward. However, the advertised battery life for the cameras and entry sensors is a blatant misrepresentation. SimpliSafe advertises that the camera batteries for outdoor cameras last between three and six months, and that the batteries for the entry sensors should last five years. This is untrue. The longest the battery for the outdoor camera has lasted is 7 days, and this is with the settings on low-res video and people capture only (as opposed to all motion capture). Four of my entry sensor batteries are dead, 3 months in. I've had to purchase two extra outdoor camera batteries to ensure no lapse in security as the battery takes 5-6 hours to charge fully.
