I’m new to composting and admittedly bought this bin for it’s clean and modern aesthetic. However, after using it, I must say I’m also impressed with the clever design (the lid fits on the edge of the bin so you don’t have to place it on your counter) and cool app that tracks your waste diversion over time.

I think it would be fun to add a gamification element to the impact tracker. I would love to compete against my friends :)

I love my poplar bin! It’s aesthetically pleasing and the perfect size for my kitchen counter. It’s also done a great job at preventing odors. It was super easy to connect to their app and find a pick up service.

They have a super cool app that syncs with your bin to track your compost impact in lbs! It’s a good feeling to see how much food waste wasn’t sent to landfills.

In the past I have tried on the counter compost bins that smell awful after sitting out for a few days. I have had food scraps in my Poplar bin for 3+ weeks and I cannot smell a thing. Seriously, no smells. As someone with roommates living in an apartment, this is the best way for me to make sure that they don't get annoyed with the smell and that my food waste doesn't go in the trash. Love this product!!!
