Friidu makes a range of high-quality ice creams.

Friidu started out of conscious hedonism: we were worried that the climate was changing, but we didn't want to give up certain things. One of these is indulgence: when we choose ice cream, we choose it because of the taste.

No eco-friendly option was good enough to satisfy the cravings and we decided to aim higher; what if we develop a plant-based ice cream that is at least as good as cream ice cream?

It took years, but finally, in the spring of 2023, the first Friidu ice cream sticks arrived in stores. The university studies in food sciences had to wait unfinished while we searched for the best possible recipe and tested the taste one after the other so that we could deliver on our promise. And so: right in the spring, one of our ice creams was even awarded as the 3rd best ice cream in Finland.

We are two female entrepreneurs in our twenties, and it sometimes takes its toll; The purpose of Friidu's existence has been questioned more times than either of us can count. That's what got us excited, and we can proudly promise that we no longer have to choose between enjoyment and environmental friendliness. The 100% plant-based Friidu ice creams have been developed with love for those who deserve everything.
