Dog won't eat the vitamin
Does anyone have any suggestions for convincing our dog to eat this vitamin? I can't tell if it's effective or not if he won't eat it. He's a 17# cavapoo and is approximately 1 and 1/2 years old.

Hi Jeane, I have a 23 lb Bishon poodle mid who also hates them. In order to get her to eat her kibble,I put some freeze dried liver treats cut into very small pieces under her kibble, I also make her multi-vitamin the same way, cut into tiny pieces. She is a very picky princess so her dislike of the DIH vitamin was not a surprise. Our other dogs love them, but they will eat anything. (Big dogs). I bought the chicken flavor and was thinking of asking if they would send me a sample of the beef flavor for the princess. We will see if that is possible.

Pill pockets have never worked for me. I wrap pills up in a little piece of liver sausage (braunschweiger.) The dogs love it and don't even take a second to try and lick it off. It's inexpensive - about $4.00 a lb. I get it at the Walmart Neighborhood Market but I have also seen it in other grocery stores. It's John Morrell and in by where the hotdogs are. I went into a lot of explanation because a lot of people have never heard of it.

Walmart carries a Pill Pocket that's flavored, it helps us with getting my dog to take stuff. You put it in the middle and cover it up. The brand is Greenies and my dog loves the Peanut butter flavored

This chew is about the size of 8 quarters thick and same diameter. So it probably won't fit in a pill pocket.
