It began with the past. Scrolling through a family album spanning the decades, I realized as I studied each black and white face that they all had perfect skin. At first I thought those ancient cameras were unable to capture the sagging lines and sun-drenched skin so common to those that called the desert home. I soon discovered they used an oil obtained from a fruit called the desert date once commonly found in private gardens and in the wild. Forgotten in the modern era, I felt compelled to bring attention back to this miraculous oil and so I began my quest to find an organic source. Finding that source in the neighboring lands of Africa where its quality remained unmarred, I began working with a lab in France where the oil was filtered via a complex process that didn't remove the natural traits responsible for the fruit’s potency. It was not long after that when Byrdoum™—a reworking of the Arabic word for nomad—was born in New York City. Byrdoum ™ Night's Ode is an organic antiaging oil made from the desert date and has some of the highest levels of antioxidants compared to other vegetable oils. It helps to soothe irritations, calms inflammations and restore the skin's vitality and is rich with vitamins A and E. Our oil is cold-pressed on an organic farm in Africa using eco-friendly practices where it is then filtered in France and is proudly Ecocert® Organic certified.
