It’s pretty good! I usually am not a huge fan of alternative sweeteners, but it was barely noticeable. (Both stevia and monk fruit) although I was quite thirsty, so most of it bypassed my tastebuds in haste. But still.
I probably won’t buy it again but only because I need to limit my citrus consumption (kidney stones due to alkaline urine, which is exacerbated by citrus)
Oh, these are not really all that pleasant. They aren’t using powdered sugar, so this is essentially crumbly crunchy sugar dust enrobed in chocolate. It’s bizarre that it uses xanthan gum when it’s obviously not doing anything to hold it together.
I ate it at room temperature, they suggest refrigerating them, but I honestly don’t think it’ll make much of a difference. (I got them in the store at room temperature, and it is 10 days prior to the date on the price tag, but the box’s expiration is 1 year away)
It seems like they reformulated. (Cronometer has an old listing with 10 additional calories, but only 5 grams of added sugars instead of the 8 grams on this package.). I would have liked to try the old less sugary formulation, but I didn’t. This formulation is a dud.
I got this thinking I would have been reimbursed, but the campaign ended and I didn’t know that. I didn’t end up returning it (even though it’s way too expensive)
We finally got through our last roll, and went back to our old standby of Scott 1000, and there’s definitely a difference. Reel was soft and quite absorbent, and you only needed a few sheets per wipe. (Scott is suitable, but is noticeably rougher, and you obviously need a longer piece in order to have an equivalent amount of paper). We’ll stay with Scott unless I come across another big sale and coupon combo for reel.
I really wanted to love these, but they are more inconvenient than they are convenient. The silicone sticks to things, collects dust, they are bulky when empty. I just don’t really find the right moments to use them. Maybe they’d be good for freezing sauces? I don’t know. The concept was good in theory, but meh.
I prefer the up&up brand of reusable bags from target. They lay super flat when empty, the gusset is external and only on the bottom so food doesn’t get stuck in internal folds, they’re sturdy and they seal really well. When they’re hung up to dry, they’re held open well by the design of the gusset area.
I tried the mango habanero flavor. Wasn’t a huge fan. It was in a weird in-between stage of watery, not all that sweet nor mango-ey, the habanero flavor came through in a weird acrid bitter way with mild heat on the back end. Not really all that memorable. Although if you’re a fan of hoppy beer, this might float your boat. It reminds me of everything I hate about hoppy beer (without the hops)
We tried the harissa chickpeas and kimchi navy beans. For the harissa, it was a little overly salty. It had good strong Moroccan flavors. The chickpeas had a nice tender texture. It wasn’t too tomatoey, but it was just in the edge of giving my husband indigestion (he’s sensitive to acidic foods). He had it over rice.
As for the kimchi navy beans. It is slightly too greasy. I only eat like 1/6 of the can at once. It’s flavorful enough to provide interesting flavor to other stuff it’s mixed with.
It’s a little thinner than I would have expected. (Always thought aioli was supposed to be closer to a mayo consistency.).
The flavor is good. The jalapeño gives some heat, but it’s not overwhelming. It is a little sweeter than I would have expected. It has an almost dill flavor. (I think it’s the cilantro). It’s a little odd (cane sugar is the 5th ingredient.) but at least it’s not bland. It has a complex flavor. Might buy it again if it’s cheap, or if I was having a taco party with friends. But otherwise, it’s not necessary. I could easily make something comparable and less sweet. I do like the packaging. It’s easy to dispense and then get the extra air out when it’s time to go in the fridge.
I had it with a vegan Taco Bell crunch wrap and potato soft taco. It added a nice touch to it. Different from the usual.
I absolutely love the chocolate brownie flavor. It’s just like a really fudgy gooey salted brownie. (The PB&J is a very close second, but the lemon one is bizarre. If you REEEEALLY like lemon meringue pie, it’s as if the filling and the crust made a baby)
Quite tasty. I tried the oatmeal raisin and apple cinnamon flavors. Of these two I think I may like the apple one better? It has a more interesting texture. They’re both quite tasty though. They do the job (of pleasing my tastebuds) equally. The peanut butter filling is a nice complement to the fruity shell.
