Week 37, 2020:

Brands spotted

This week, we've spotted nutritional supplements for pups, ergonomic tech accessories and an energy bar brand that wants to do away with sugar highs.

We've also seen some interesting developments in the meatless meat space. Kuleana, a Y Combinator-backed brand, recently hit the market with a plant-based alternative to raw tuna, which it says is realistic enough to be used in sushi. It's not the only brand dabbling in seafood mimicry – Impossible Foods started working on a fish alternative last year, while Nestlé has just launched a vegan tuna made from pea protein. The growth of such products ostensibly offers a solution to the problem of over-fishing, but it's still being debated whether intensively processed meat alternatives are really what we need when it comes to preserving the health of the planet.
