    S’well

S’well has been my go-to emotional support bottle for a while. I can put cold water in there, leave it at work, and come back the next day to still cold water! Holds cold drinks better than other bottles I’ve tried at similar price points. Doesn’t hold odours, and is super durable after endless drops I’ve put it through.

Higher price for just a water bottle, but super justifiable. It’s effective, cute, and durable.

    Stasher Bag

I love stasher bags, but they’re so expensive! I would by a million of these snd use them everyday if I could. They’re durable, easy to clean, and come in so many sizes that have so many functions. Initially I got the stasher clip-on and the stasher pocket for dog treats and dog food when on the go, but after losing the stasher pockets several times, I do not think I can justify a repurchase at CAD$10 a piece for the tiny thing. Maybe one day!

I think these are well worth it for the durability and size and style options alone. However, there are many reusable bag options out there at lower price points that get the job done.

    SKIMS

I now have 3 pieces from skims, and so far I’m fairly impressed. Despite using the same size across multiple different brands, the skims bras have always fit me best. Looking seamless under shirts and hugging my breasts with no gaps given my smaller size. They are pricey for me though, and not as readily available in Canada.

    Feedback

I think the bras are worth it (namely the underwire mesh bras), but their underwear is so-so. So far I’ve tried the cotton string bikini, which doesn’t fit with my proportions and looks odd, and the cotton dipped thong, which has rave reviews but IMO is nothing special. I did thoroughly enjoy the comfort of the cotton rib brief, although the piling happening on the waistband is unsightly.

    White Flower

A longtime asian household staple, I use this stuff for everything. Similar to the way one might use vicks, I bring it in the car for aromatherapy when I feel carsick, I dap it on my temples when I have a headache, or on any spots that feel achy or sore.

    Feedback

So far, I’ve only ever seen this product sold in asian supermarkets, making them not as easily accessible in Canada (depending on the area you live in). However I do love the glass packaging and how compact the product is, ready to fit in any purse, big or small.

    OLIPOP

I recently saw these at my grocery store and it was the cute packaging really caught my eye. I was never allowed a lot of soda as a kid, so every now and then I like to treat myself to coke or root beer. These are a much healthier alternative, with so much less sugar, and the added benefit of probiotics which I found bizarre but cool. They also make my tummy hurt much less than traditional pops. I’d purchase again if they had a more accessible price point.

    Feedback

Definitely on the pricier side, at CAD$4.99 per can at my local grocer. More of an indulgent and occasional purchase.

    Glossier

As overly hyped as glossier used to be, I still find myself reaching for their products for my everday “makeup”. Their mascara elongates my lashes and boldens them just enough, without any clumping or mess. Their cloud paints are my favourite liquid blush to put on everyday. And their boy brow sets my brows in place all day. I genuinely want to try more of their products, if only they were available to purchase at a physical location in Canada. The products to me are no fuss, no mess, and I don’t even need a mirror sometimes to apply them if I’m on the go. Great for plain jane people like me.

    Feedback

Please make a physical glossier location in Canada, I’m sure myself and many others would be grateful.

I love the concept of a deliverable beverage subscription that focuses on reuse-ability and sustainability. So when I discovered the brand, I hopped on to get 2 cases. While I no longer have a subscription because I think drinking tap water is much more sustainable. I loved Inside Job and Bubbas. There’s something about sparkling water on a hot summers day that just hits different. Very well done on their packaging, marketing, and high-quality beverages that are locally inspired and made.

I don’t really like protein/energy bars, so I only give it a 4/5. However I was pleasantly surprised by the 3 flavours I’ve tried (almond crunch, fudge yeah, and the peanut one). Almond crunch was my favourite for sure. The texture isn’t too thick, chewy, or heavy to be overwhelming in the mouth. The prices are kinda high at the grocery store I saw these at, but it’s a nice little sweet pick me up on those days I don’t eat much of a lunch.

    Mejuri

I was gifted my first mejuri ring (bee pinky ring) from my boyfriend and it has held up exceptionally well. Aside from wearing it to outings. I also wear it to work. I am a line cook so the ring goes through a lot. From washing my hands to washing dishes and getting banged on from machinery, equipment, and tools. It’s still shiny and hasn’t left any weird colouring or marks on my finger. I also love the fact that Mejuri is a Canadian brand that started in Toronto, and that they offer a vast size-range, as I have tiny fingers and have trouble shopping for them at other places.

    Wild One

I thought that the leash, harness, and matching doggy-bag holder were so stylish and they really do look great on my dog. However upon further inspection, you can see how worn out the products have become with regular use. After just 1 day, the soft material of the harness started pilling, and the leash’s metal hardware is starting to chip off paint. The harness’ adjustment points also slide easily and overall it doesn’t fit perfectly all the time. I do love how the colours have stayed true so far and that the leash’s material is easily cleanable and waterproof for snowy/rainy days. Mind you, the issues mentioned above have arisen with only 2 months of daily use. I’ll continue to use the products as they were pretty expensive, and also a family member’s gift to my dog. So until the harness wears out to the un-usable point, my pup will be sporting his Wild One getup.

    Feedback

I think the materials used in the harness should be changed to one that is more durable. And if the leash could have more functions, such as being able to use it cross-body or around the waist, that would be awesome!
