    Veracity Selfcare

Veracity creates a personalized system based on your hormones. I am someone who struggles with hormonal acne, so naturally I was bought in. The test is kind of pricy, but if you're like me, I would give my first born child for clear skin. The kit indicated that I basically have low hormones across the board, with testosterone and cortisol actually being 'normal'. They recommended a bunch of products for me, but I chose the ones I felt were most necessary (i.e. I already use a probiotic so I didn't buy that). Overall, 3 of their products have earned a spot as my staples. I did a video review for a different app when I first started to show the dramatic improvement, which I think came from the cleanser and supplement mostly. Calming Cleanser - This has become one of my staples. I really love it is a medicated cleanser that doesn't dry me out. I use it as a step 2 when I oil cleanse. Will always repurchase. Inflammation Response - I really like this but am not sure of a noticeable difference. I've been repurchasing for ~10 months and recently ran out. I haven't rebought and my skin hasn't changed much, so I'm not sure what it's doing. Still, I will be repurchasing as I love how it makes my skin feel. Hydration Balance - This is a nice hydrator, but not any different (to me) than any HA serum. I stopped buying this one. Progesterone Balance - I think this has helped restore some of my hormone levels, though I haven't retested since the kit was so much. My skin definitely improved a bit after starting to use this, and I have not stopped since starting about 10 months ago. Will always repurchase (unless I get a hormone test that says otherwise!)

    Grande Cosmetics

Some things just work. That's how I feel about GrandeLash. From 2019 - 2022 I used to use it religiously. People would always ask if my lashes were fake, which I proudly said they weren't. After some time, I started to forget to use it and then my lashes slowly shrunk. I was looking at photos from a few years ago, and realized how much shorter they were now than then. I repurchased and am going back on my lash journey. In my pictures you can see the top one, which is today (2024), and the bottom which is from when I used it (2020). I'm not wearing makeup in either photo, so you can tell that GrandeLash really added length and thickness.

    quip

Sadly, Quip really missed the mark for me. I cannot speak to any product other than their brushes, but please be cautious when using! I have relatively good teeth, and purchased a Quip to up my game. After about 2 months of daily use, my gums actually started receding. Luckily, because I was oil pulling, flossing, and paying great attention, I was able to catch it before it got bad. I would caution people who 1) brush hard and 2) don't typically use electric toothbrushes. I've since switched to a competitor with a gentle head and have had no problems :)

    Blume

I tried Blume because I saw 8 million ads about how their Melt Down oil can get rid of acne quickly. Spoiler: it does not. Here is more about my experience: Melt Down Oil - I really wanted to like this, but I felt it didn't do much. It definitely helped hydrate, but for those deep cystic zits, it didn't really make a dent. In fact, I noticed tiny ones forming around where I tried to treat it. I wouldn't repurchase Superpower Clay Mask - This mask came with the oil in a bundle, and I actually didn't mind it. It is a typical clay mask, wasn't overly drying and gave me a nice, clean feeling after use. I likely wouldn't repurchase just because I have clay masks I like more.

    MANTLE

MANTLE is a Swedish CBD skincare brand that I discovered while staying at a friend's. I used a mask she had and the acne I had from traveling/stress was significantly reduced just overnight. Since then I've been buying a lot of their products at a time (and tried a lot of them) since it's quite hard to get it in the US and I had to make the shipping fees from tiny SE boutiques worth it. However, now they ship to the US from their official site and I couldn't be happier as shipping is free over $90. Here are some of my favorites/things I've tried in case anyone is interested. I am 31F, dry/combo skin with redness and hormonal acne at times. The Green Mask: My HG mask. 10/10 would recommend. It's exfoliating but not drying at the same time and I like the smell. I use this 1-2x a week and it significantly reduces my breakouts + redness. Will always repurchase. The Dream Mask: I love this mask. It's an overnight one and extremely moisturizing. All of my friends in SE use it and their skin is amazing. If you're someone who loves overnight masks this one is for you. However, because I'm not a huge overnight mask person I'm not sure if the ingredients are super different from what you can get here. This is a splurge repurchase for me. The Bare Balm: I like this as a first step in an oil cleansing process, or just for the AM. It definitely doesn't irritate and melts my makeup off. I'd likely repurchase, but just to hit the free shipping minimum since it's cheaper than the other products and I absolutely do like it. However, I have other oil cleansers that I love so I don't want to discontinue them. The Must Mist: I got this free with the purchase of the Bare Balm. I love it and think it's extremely refreshing as a toner. It also has a blue light blocking ingredient, though I'm not sure if that's just gimmicky. Too soon to tell if I'd purchase again, but likely not just as I have toners I like more. Probably wouldn't repurchase unless I see some crazy improvements after going through my sample. The Glow Serum: I LOVE the way it made my skin feel/look after one use. It's an antioxidant serum that makes my skin feel so refreshed and has a more oily consistency than other serums I've used. After just a week it's calming my uneven skin and red marks from past breakouts. I would compare it to the way CEO Glow by Sunday Riley made me feel (which I also really liked). Will definitely repurchase. The Ex: Love, love, LOVE this exfoliator. It's definitely powerful and you don't need to use it frequently. It heats up a bit while you rub it in and it leaves skin insanely soft. I did not notice any dryness or irritation after use. Will repurchase. The Treat: I really wanted to like this, but I don't think it really did anything (good or bad). It's an azaelic acid acne treatment for overnight. However, I don't know if any azaelic acid products work for me as I've tried in the past and didn't notice anything either. Would not repurchase.
