Fun experience to design your own candle scent - makes for a great gift too. The candle is really big which makes it good value for $ compared to other luxury candles I've bought.

I ordered 2 candles from them. It was a great price point and they lasted a long time. I would just like them to improve the vessels that they come in and have more customizable options.

I found the experience of ordering a candle intuitive, pleasant, and fun! The product shipped quickly and it was a nice candle. It's difficult to stand out in a very saturated market so I'm unsure if I would do this again.

Nice looking candle, I like the double wick. The scent is pretty nice but doesn't have a very long reach and is barely noticeable. The customized label feels a little cheap, and under designed. The touted "AI technology" feature is a simple quiz that will suggest a fragrance with a name like Blend No. 1223, making you believe the possibilities are in the thousands, when in reality it is picking out of a handful of options. Feels a little gimmicky, but at least it's reasonably priced.

Maybe I'm pickier with scents than others. Loved the concept and tech, but I'd just say they're "okay" bc I wouldn't wanna drown myself in these smells. I took the personalized quiz and ordered the sampler kit which sends you mini candles of your top 3 results. They aren't the "perfect" selection, so it's gonna take some trial and error (and $$$) to get it right. I'm glad I bought the sample sizes and didn't splurge on the giant candles. I'd be inclined to try the quiz again some other time though.

There are so many scents that the naming convention kind of makes it hard to identify/differentiate, from a consumer's POV. I also think the quiz could be a little more specific: I mentioned I didn't like florals—more specifically roses, plumerias, and a few other strong flowers I had to list out—yet they still snuck in a hint of a floral note that still gives me a bit of a headache. This does however make me want to retake the quiz again to experiment with another curation, but it's just a bit expensive imo.

I love my candle. The flavor profile is pretty complex without being cloying, it has a very long burn time, and the scent diffuses well in my home. I also like the minimalist white jar it comes in (I think they updated their jar options recently and mine has the new jar.) Overall, I think it’s a very high quality candle at a good price (I got mine on the thingdrop, but will be ordering more of the 2231 blend.) However, I have a few problems with the quiz: - While it’s touted as AI, it just seems to be a simple quiz giving answers from a select list of options. I don’t think there’s that many candle options. - I tried to filter out vanilla by adding that ingredient to the list of scents i didn’t want to include, but a lot of my matches also included vanilla. So I had to double check the recommendations to make sure my candle did not in fact have any. - I wish they just named the candles what they smelled like. “Blend 2231” is hard to remember and doesn’t tell me anything - why not just put the notes or the subtitle “zesty citrus” front and center instead? - I wish I could browse through all the candle options from a list too.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out Scent Lab, an online candle-making company, and overall, I had a positive experience. The website was easy to navigate and had a wide selection of scents to choose from. I appreciated the option to customize my own candle and choose the color, scent, and even the container. The process of making the candle was straightforward, and the instructions were clear. I liked that the materials provided were of high quality, and the end result was a beautiful, well-made candle that smelled fantastic.

Oh my gosh, I have loooooved my Scent Lab candle!! I really wanted a candle that didn't smell super flowery. So I opted for the one they gave me that has more of a woodsy, tobacco smell. I chose the option that made the candle a medium-strength smell, and honestly I wish I had gone full strength because it smells SO GOOD. Highly recommend.
