Routine Wellness earns reviews that largely affirm it works—delivering softer, shinier, fuller-looking hair with reduced frizz and shedding, soothed scalps, and clean, plant-based formulas like Avocado & Basil and Rose Hips. Short answer.... it didn't make a noticeable difference enough for me to want to order again.  The shampoo, no matter how quick I washed my hair, always felt super dry afterwards even when I left the conditioner in Atlanta afterwards.  The shampoo and scalp oil treatment especially, smelled like tar shampoo.   The conditioner was a light scent.   (I ordered the rose option).

Did the product produce new hair growth? No I don't believe it did.

Did it reduce how much hair i lost during washes?  Yes, i think it helped some.

I'm currently going through chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer. I am on 10/12 and have been cold capping,  I am lucky to have a good head of thick fine hair, shedding has been pretty constant throughout and would say probably lost 40% thickness.
Has anyone got experience with this shampoo during or after treatment?

You can’t review and rate a product you haven’t received or used yet. I get the frustration with the shipping but this is not a product review. You have a two star rating to a product before you even received it. This is a shipping review, not a product review.

If you are only washing your hair 4 times a month and you are ordering a bottle a month - how much shampoo are you using??

You can say something about the shipping and arrival or non arrival! Especially when they say it will arrive quickly.... Its a huge part of the process and experience!

Did you ever receive the product? How was it?

This bag of hair is what I lost in 6 weeks using this shoddy shampoo and conditioner. When I complained they said it can take months to see any results. 
It has been months. The customer rep said no refund or exchange after 30 days. 
What a load of BS. 
This company advertises a guarantee that they don’t back up.
I also would say I have lost MORE HAIR since using this shampoo and conditioner. 
Lousy service and fake claims. 
Avoid at all costs.

I have news for you. Nothing is going to cure hair loss. It’s an internal issue that would need to be addressed, in most cases. A shampoo might help reduce shedding and/or make the actual hair healthier or fuller or whatever, but until the actual cause of hair thinning is addressed, it can’t be helped. The problem is that everyone jumps on a product that advertises miracles, and you’re right, it’s misleading. But people need to educate themselves on the causes of hair loss, the hair growth cycle, and see a doctor to see if there is an internal issue causing the thinning.

Anti-Thinning Shampoo & Conditioner

Okay, I went a little silly when I read the reviews and signed up for a subscription of Routine Shampoo and Conditioner at the end of February 2024. I started using this product line March 9th twice a week. I only wash my hair twice a week unless I have had a really gross, sweaty day then I will wash it that day as well.  My hair is fine, but I have a lot of hair. I am naturally blond and my hair is nearly waist long.  At first, my hair felt very dry and brittle and I was kinda concerned. The knots were insane after I washed it with Routine Shampoo and Conditioner. I pulled out SO much hair from my brush once my hair had dried. I didn't dare try to get anything through it until then. I sent an email to the company expressing my concerns. They said to try less Shampoo and rince it faster and more conditioner and leave it on longer. I said okay.... figured I would get through my first bottles and if I didn't see serious changes in the results, I was gonna cancel the subscription and review the products accordingly. 
  As you can see in the pictures, the results have changed drastically.  I am now roughly 6 weeks into using Routine Shampoo and Conditioner.  You can see in the photos what the hair loss has become. Safe to say, I plan to keep the subscription and have even changed the shipping to each month rather than every 2 months.  
My hair smells fresh and clean after it's washed. The smell isn't as strong as I would like, but it's still good. I would love to see some other scents available for purchase and maybe not quite as pricey, but I am here to tell you, give it a little time if you don't see what you are hoping to see right away. Your hair wasn't damaged in one wash and it can't be repaired in one wash.  I was truly skeptical about this up until after about 3.5 weeks in. Now.... I am a believer!

I tried the shampoo and conditioner and had a very bad reaction.  My scalp burned  and itched and I ended up with sores  all over my scalp.  The product  cannot be used in the shower as the product runs down your body and causes the same reaction to the skin.  I called the company but they do not take international returns and would not refund my money.  They just said they hope I find a product that works for me.
I find it very disappointing that this company does not stand behind their product.
I would recommend you try another product rather than Routine.


I have dyed my hair red for 30 years and I always used cheap shampoo and conditioner so I thought I would try this more expensive conditioner. It said it was good for colored hair.  I didn’t even use half the bottle of shampoo. It totally stripped the color out of my hair now it looks like a orangey brown color. When usually it’s very bright red that was a waste of money don’t buy this.

I put 2 orders in on a Sunday and tried to cancel the next day because I can't afford this and was told it's too late that it was already marked to ship. Extremely unhappy.

Well......I can't speak to the actual product as it has yet to arrive😒

I'm fascinated with the compliments of "super fast shipping".

It'll be 10 days tomorrow and I live in WA state.

These products are perfect for those who may be more sensitive to heavy sense or ingredients like that. They are very effective, but also super gentle on the skin, hair, etc. I would definitely recommend.

I have been using Routine cucumber shampoo & conditioner 2 months now 2x a week.My hair loss has increased in my shower drain,comb, & all over my vanity floor. The lather & scent are acceptable.Now I have gaps where my scalp is showing. It’s not for me! It’s also expensive. The reviews on Facebook were glowing,buyer beware. 

I bought this shampoo and conditioner before finding out I had cancer. After chemo was completed, I began using routine shampoo and conditioner on my bare head, and hair as it began to grow in. No hair loss, hair is thick and beautiful. I would recommend the shampoo.

I purchased the Routine products in December in the Basil and Avocado scent.  I chose it because I believed the avocado would be more moisturizing.   I have exclusively used the serum, shampoo, and conditioner for 6 months.  There is no change in the amount of hair loss I see each time I wash my hair.  The brush is full of lost hair brushing out my hair after washing.  My hair is drier and more brittle after using these products.  In that, I believe the products have contributed to more hair loss.  I purchased believing there was a money back guarantee, the small print is it expires after 30 days.  Their website splashs it could take up to 4-6 months for improvement and to bear with it in the meantime ( while your chance of a refund disappears).  I hope this review helps someone not make the mistake I did.

This is an absolutely amazing shampoo and conditioner set. 

What I love: 
- Smells great
- Took about 6 weeks, but my hair stopped shedding. I could tell because I didn't have to clean up as much in my shower or in my brush. 
- Took about 12 weeks to see new hair growth
- Great at detangling and leaves my hair moisturized 

What I don't love: 
- One of the pumps I got didn't work right. The company had to send me another one. 
-  No hair masks or serums, which I like from my brands so I can use them when I want in very dry climates, etc. 
- Not at Target <- my biggest gripe. 

On my second bottle. My hair has started to regrow in my peak area. Losing less hair in the shower. And my hair feels thicker. I have naturally thin blonde hair… love this stuff

Pros: shipped super fast
Cons: I got the rose hips. It smells like pert with a chemical smell.  I thought, well I can get past the smell, but then I noticed my white pillow case had an orange residue all over it.  As my husband said, I wonder what it’s doing to your hair. Will be returning. 

I purchased the sample because I didn't believe the reviews. Well, here I am giving my HONEST review of these amazing products. ROUTINE does everything it says it will. I purposely held off giving a review until now. I wanted to make sure it works. After 4 weeks I noticed a remarkable difference ....HAIR GROWTH.
I had significant hair growth on the crown of my head and the Shine was noticeable after two days of using.
I only use a nickel size amount and the shampoo lathers up great. I let it sit on my scalp for a few minutes while I shave my legs. The conditioner is light and it doesn't flatten out my hair. I use a small amount on my baby fine hair. I'm ordering the large bottle. I'd be foolish not too. 😊 THANK YOU for this excellent product (s) .

I've been using Routine Shampoo & Conditioner (Rose Hips scented) for more than 6 months.  My hair is thicker, shinier, and stronger.  I love this brand and I strongly recommend the Routine Hair Serum too. 

I've had some hair loss as I've aged and maybe some from having a baby.  And my hair feels/looks like it did 10 years ago!  Thank you Routine.

I wish I could buy this at Target.

I actually discovered Routine when I was at my mom’s house and saw it in the bathroom.  I used the shampoo and conditioner for a few days when I was staying with her and immediately saw the results. I was shocked how good this product is, I’m currently on my third bottle, trying the cucumber scent this time. Funny to say, recently I was hosting my friend at my house and she has turned into a Routine customer as well!
