    Magic Spoon

Blech. I know it seems like everyone on social media is head over heels for Magic Spoon, but my tastebuds respectfully disagree. It has a weird taste but only because you know what the OG cereal tastes like, and for some reason with (plant based) milk it is still kind of dry and a dense kind of crunchy to the point where I thought I cracked a crown. It's like a health company tried to recreate staple breakfast cereals but failed somehow making it taste and feel worse than traditional health cereals. This might just be me because everyone seems to like it......but I think it's far too expensive and gross

    Glossier

As much as I want to fall in love with Glossier it just hadn't happened over the years. Tried their Balm.com, the cream Lidstar(?) shadows, the solid version of their skin scent You, and more recently the cult status Future Dew. The only thing I really liked was Balm.com on my lips. Everything from Glossier is just a wash of color that just isn't my thing, but other people might absolutely love that. I know this sounds ridiculous, but the Future Dew was too dewy, far too dewy for an oily complexion.....but it's great on the declotee. Glossier has incredibly sleek and minimalist packaging which I love, but if I don't love what's in the packaging it's a L for me. Try it, you might really like it.....I think it's for a specific subset of people.

    Parachute Home

Would have been a perfect rating if it wasn't for the extraordinarily high pricing. Please note that Parachute does have items that are of incredible quality, for the home and bath decor and linens as well as robes. The prices for the furniture are outrageous and close to RH pricing. What is totally worth the splurge and closer to reasonable pricing based on the quality are: bed linens, bath towels, robes, and blankets. The furniture (which there is little of) is gorgeous and definitely looks very luxe. I would say that Parachute is like a mix of West Elm / CB2, and the scandi version of RH. I have bought for myself and also gifted the robes as well as the thin knit ribbed blankets (which are fantastic and like a summer weight blanket while still being cozy). Absolutely love Parachute.

Alleyoop is really thoughtful when it comes to product offering and design. I have 2 Innovative products from them, the Pen Pal and the Multitasker......both are FANTASTIC for travel! The Pen Pal Black is like those pens we used to have with all the different ink colors in 1 casing where you press down the color lever you want to write with, but it's makeup :) I got the light option with black eyeliner, taupe brow liner, nude pink lip liner, and champagne highlighter. The Multitasker is really nice but has 1 drawback.....there's an attached cosmetic blending sponge *but it's not replaceable*......you also get a liner brush, blush brush, eyeshadow, and of course the sponge for foundation. Absolutely in love with these products for traveling. The brush quality is pretty good and they're super soft, and the Pen which isn't pictured (left in my last hotel room) is very nice but not *high* quality luxury brand nice......it's like something from ulta in the prestige cosmetic section.

    The Ordinary

Honestly I really like a few of the products from this company a lot, however there are a lot that aren't for me. That being said, I REALLY LOVE the AHA BHA Peel and the Lactic Acid serum not only because they are fantastic products, but because they're also incredibly affordable and effective. The brand as a whole has been restructuring and dropping their Hylamide line and their Fabric line which was haircare. The mission behind the brand to bring quality actives at an entry point price is so great and I like it Aloe. Is this going to be the most effective product ever , no probably not......but the quality exceeds it's price point for sure.

The company seems to be well loved in the community and has cute packaging, but I wasn't a fan of the ingredients or effect. It had a lot of natural ingredients which is typically good but can also be a bad thing.. .... I broke out from the mask several times due to the horse Chestnut it included in the ingredients of the mask. Unfortunately due to that I have put off purchasing more products from Sunday Riley. Wanted to like them so badly, but it didn't workout.

Tried this sauce 2 different ways.....as a topper sauce and as something thrown into a wok with veggies. It's not something I'd normally like but wanted to give it a try and it just didn't hit with me or anything it was put with, even for different methods of cooking and different ingredients. This is just a personal preference because my son actually really liked it.

I've tried several of their dressing/marinade products and have not been a fan when strictly used as a salad dressing......but it's not too bad as a marinade, though you need a TON to use to impart flavor which can be disgustingly expensive. Just like you'd think it's very Acid forward and bright, so it makes a good marinade for veggies for sure. Personally like a bit more sweetness and herbaceous quality to marinades and dressing but it's honestly not bad at all. Great label and packaging too.

Super cool company focused on barrier repair and natural solutions. It is expensive but the products are developed with care and intent. They also have hair and fragrance and supplements as well. One stand out product for me is the Topical C which is powder version of vitamin C that lasts forever and can be used with simple water or mixed with serums. Great packaging and such an earthy natural sustainable feel

Ok so I have a TON of beautypie products and can confidently say that 85% of the products have been Total winners. They have products that are "C" free meaning that you can use them even if you are undergoing treatment for cancer. They have innovative formulas and their products are sourced from the same labs the luxury companies have their skincare formulated at. The prices are unbelievable but the only catch is a membership is $50 a year.....which honestly is a bargain. They have skincare, fragrances (edt) and body care developed by master noses in France and Italy, nailpolish, haircare, makeup, beauty tools, supplements, candles, and accessories like makeup bags and scrunchies and sleep masks. The owner is incredibly active in the community and on her weekly Instagram company updates / new product launches/ FAQ / family chat and recommendations and question time, you can see how much she LOVES the company the employees and the customers.....she's always so bubbly and helpful and involved with the A to Z of everything. Honestly love her and she's the kind of BFF you wished you had.
