Jeni’s is the BOMB. I live in Chicago and gladly shell out more money for Jeni’s pints. They’re gold. I love the brambleberry crisp as well as the limited edition cinnamon roll (cream cheese!!!), plus anything else with cream cheese ice cream, really. It’s so rich and satisfying.

    Feedback

Jeni’s gets icier faster than the other ice cream in my freezer, but I imagine it’s a matter of quality.

Before Tony’s came to the States, I would stick up on bars whenever I went to go visit family in the Netherlands. The chocolate is delicious, ethically made, and affordable, with such fun packaging. What’s not to love?

    More dark chocolate flavors please!!

I LOVE Girlfriend Collective. It’s sustainable and ethically made, size-inclusive, high-quality, and super fun and empowering. It’s great for workouts and for everyday and has delightful colors. So far, I’ve bought multiple pairs of leggings, bike shorts, and sports bras, and all have been amazing quality. I LOVE the feel of their signature fabric. Even when there’s a style I don’t know if I could pull off confidently as a larger girl, their branding makes me want to go for it. If it doesn’t work out, returns are super easy. The panties are incredible: they’re comfortable and don’t roll down. The everyday bras haven’t been as supportive as I would have liked for me as a 36D, but for $25 or so, I’m really happy.

More bright colors!! I’d also love even more products beyond athleisure! The website can also be hard to use: search functionality and item availability needs work. I would love to be able to pick my size and see colors are in stock, both for overall searching and for a single item.

    OLIPOP

I used to own a kombucha brewery and was SO excited when I heard about Olipop. I tried to track it down for months until finally found the root beer flavor at a grocery store, only to try it and taste diet soda, but even worse. I tried the strawberry vanilla and had the same experience. For $2.50, it was junk.

    Feedback

Get rid of that weird artificial diet flavor. Pre/probiotics could make you feel good.

    Glossier

Glossier has some gems, but it’s hit or miss. It’s been a revolution in beauty for the 2010s, but it’s more trend than content. I’ve tried the jelly cleanser, highlighter stick (in quartz), cloud paint blush (in beam), and boy brow (in brown/brunette/whatever the color was). The highlighter stick and cloud paint are incredible: they take 10 seconds to put on, and anyone can use them, the highlighter stick is too big to use for more detailed areas without a brush, but I’m not complaining. Both have lasted me forever (1-2 years, at least) with just one purchase. Boy brow has been more hype than substance. I couldn’t tell a difference after I put it on - I have medium-thickness brown brows - and it ran out quickly. The milky jelly cleanser left a weird film on my face. I purchased the cleanser and started to make a return because it wasn’t for me, so customer support simply let me have it. That was nice of them! I didn’t use it, but still a good gesture.

    Feedback

Increase your quality. I don’t really know. Make more things like cloud paint and the highlighter.

HERO WORKS for my hormonal acne. That is insane: nothing works for my acne. I’ve used the mighty patches (hydrocolloid bandage for pimples/cystic acne), the lightning serum (fades dark spots), and rescue balm (helps fade post-breakout discoloration - I’ve used both the regular and green-tinted one), and ALL of them have worked. Mighty patches are the first thing they tried. They’re essential for healing pimples and drawing out the gunk, especially since I have painful cystic acne. Can’t live without them. The same is true of any hydrocolloid bandage, but I can wear mighty patches outside without drawing too much attention. The lightning wand actually has faded dark spots that I’ve had for months, if not years, after 3-4 weeks of twice daily use. It’s available in a pen and super easy to use. Rescue balm hasn’t been as life-changing, but it still has helped. The green is especially great for hiding red spots under makeup.

Some clearer instructions on how to layer products would be nice.

    Oatly

Oatly is the greatest plant-based milk out there. And somehow the funnest plant-based milk out there? Oatly is creamy, not watered down, and tastes like just enough like oats for it to be pleasant but not overpowering. There’s nothing like full-fat Oatly with milk. It’s also the only milk I can put in my coffee and enjoy (and not give me gas like cow’s milk or other nondairy milks). I tried the ice cream when it first came to the States, but I wasn’t a fan: it tasted too oat-y and had that gluey texture that oatmeal can have. I haven’t tried it since, so the formula may have changed.

    Feedback

Ice cream could use some work so it’s creamy without being gluey.

    Everlane

Everlane introduced me to slow fashion. I bought a backpack in high school 8 years ago that lasted me 2-3 years until it gave out. Unfortunately, it’s declined massively in quality. I’ve ordered sweaters that have warped in shape; jeans that have stretched out to the point I can’t wear them; dresses that have ripped in 1-2 wears; and T-shirts that have practically washed away in the laundry. I even ordered two colors of one sweater type (a boxy thick-knit crop), and one shrunk while the other stretched and became too big. Also, Everlane’s “radical transparency” has shown to be a myth. I have heard that they squashed attempts at unionizing in their East Asian factories as well as one Vietnamese-American blogger who, though Everlane worked with a factory near her home town and sells items she likes, urges people not to buy from them. Their corporate culture is discriminatory against non-white people, and their minimal attempts at expanding sizing is pathetic. Their mission of sustainability has been totally destroyed by the constantly changing, heavily seasonal styles in their inventory.

    Feedback

Everlane needs to return to its roots: it needs to actually support a mission of sustainability by making high-quality clothes that last more than a season, even if they’re pricier. It also needs to massively overhaul its treatment of its factory workers and POC employees and customers.

    BAGGU

I LOVE Baggu. I have two canvas duck tote bags that are extremely functional and look great that I’ve had for 2-3 years. I especially love the small handle in addition to the strap and the small durable pouch on the inside that can hold a phone. They’ve introduced me to the joys of canvas. I bought a lovely embroidered duck bag for a friend for her birthday that she absolutely loved. The folding bags are also great, and they’re water-resistant. but you can get the same design and functionality cheaper now unless you want a specific Baggu design (and I wouldn’t blame you if you did).

    Feedback

More cleaning tips for duck canvas please! My light blue bag has gotten pretty dirty, but it holds up.

I really wanted to like this brand: it’s sustainable, has free and fast shipping, and beautiful hosiery. The reality is that they rip really, really easily. I’ve placed two orders, and all of my tights have ripped within a few months. The socks are also simply foot-size sheer tights that roll at the top.

    Feedback

Please make the hosiery more durable. It’s not worth the price and material wasted.
