Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay to claim my brand page?

There is no cost associated with claiming your brand page.

Are you a marketplace or affiliate program? I'm not interested in those kinds of programs at this time.

No, we are not a marketplace and no, we do not have an affiliate program. You can read more about our mission here.

What happens when I click the "Apply" button above?

Find a step by step walkthrough here.

If you don't already have a Thingtesting account, you'll be asked to create one. You'll then submit your name, title, and work email address via a "contributor application" in order to receive edit rights to your brand page. Once approved, you'll receive a verification email with a link to begin suggesting changes to your page. We manually review all submitted changes and it can take time for our team to get through them. We'll email you as soon as your edits are approved and your updated brand page is live. To best serve our audience, the Thingtesting team reserves the right to review and edit any changes you submit.

Can I only suggest changes once?

Once you are a verified contributor to your brand page, you will be able to suggest changes whenever you like by navigating to your profile and clicking the "My Brands" tab.

What photo should I use for my brand page?

We love product-focused studio images with no text, the resolution should be at least 1080x1080.

Can more than one team member be a contributor to a brand page?

Yes. They can follow the same process outlined above even if someone else is already an existing contributor.

What if I prefer to have my page removed from Thingtesting?

The goal of our directory is to organize the online brand landscape for consumers and build a database that includes all online brands of note. As such, we do not remove brand pages. If you choose to not contribute, the page information will stand as is — based on publicly available information with the intention of giving our audience the most complete overview of your brand.
