    Mid-Day Squares

As an alternative to generic supermarket chocolate - it's tastier, more filling and I didn't get a sugar crash! The dark chocolate tasted pretty yummy and without any chalkiness. I enjoyed the Peanut Butta and Brownie Batter flavours. And as someone who finds protein bars taste like cardboard, this is definitely the perfect alternative. So for me, it delivers on its promise as a mid-day treat/filling snack! It's definitely something I'd repurchase though at the price point, it wouldn't be a weekly purchase.

Tatcha is a true modern luxury brand. From the packaging, to the product texture, Tatcha really makes their products feel special. I've tried their cleansing oil, blotting papers, Rice polish, Deep clean exfoliating cleanser. I would repurchase the blotting papers as each paper can be used at least 2x so even though it's expensive, I still haven't finished a pack. Also the blotting papers don't remove makeup or add a powdery film, just remove the oil. I also really liked their cleansing oil for the fragrance, the way it removed makeup and left my skin clean by not sensitized. For me, I wouldn't buy most of their products regularly as it's expensive, but it's an amazing treat or gift fo others.

The price isn't for everyone, but I think Tatcha is up there for modern luxury brands for experience and quality. Similar to Tata Harper or Biossance.

This was pretty decent candy for adults who miss the nostalgia of candy - it's definitely less sweet, and chewier than the generic candy version (which I like). I've tried the Peach rings and the gummy worms. I'm definitely more of a chocolate person so I wouldn't buy it to eat myself regularly, but whenever I've bought this candy for a group hang out, it's always a hit. For the price and size, it's not a value buy.

It's quite expensive for the amount of candy that you get.

I have repurchased from August several times. I love their day and night pads, they are so cottony and soft. I appreciate that the liner wrapping is dissolvable. The packaging is beautiful. For me, I find the tampons harder to insert than Tampax or Playtex. The mechanism to release the tampon from the insert is not as smooth/effective and it seems to sit lower than generic brands. I don't mind waiting a bit longer for shipping as I understand they are trying to be more sustainable with freight. However, you should probably order their products before you need it!

I have owned an Away Bigger Carry On Since 2018 and have taken it on many short and long haul flights. I love the built in lock, the 360 wheels and how much I can fit in it. It looks pretty much identical today to the first day I got it. The zippers work perfectly. If it gets any marks it can be rubbed off easily. The rechargeable battery is great and can charge my phone more than 2x. It's one of the best gifts I've ever received. I love that the bag has a lifetime warranty.

The handles have got a little sticky moving up and down over the years. A built-in scale like Beis luggage to let you know if you're overweight. The rechargeable battery died after 4 years and I bought it for around $65 CAD with tax. It would be great if this product was cheaper than another option I could find on the market.

I have bought from Glossier since their first launch. I have tried their skincare, makeup and fragrance. I use their reusable pink pouches all the time with travel. Their customer service is amazing and proactive. A few weeks after I bought the Skin Tint they reached out to me with credit as they were about to release the reformulated version. I've never had a company do that, and I shop a lot online. I think their products make a great gift to a beauty or skincare newbie - not really for anyone who is a Sephora VIB or has problem skin. I love their Glossier You Fragrance - amazing packaging, light scent, perfect for everyday. The product I repeatedly purchased from them is their Milky Jelly Cleanser, which feels like an elevated rose-scented version of Cetaphil / Cerave. Not necessary but I like i t. And I used to love their Bubblewrap eye cream but unfortunately, they discontinued it. Their Cloud Paints and Eyebrow pens work very well but they are harder to use than a cream blush stick or eyebrow pen from competitors. I still follow them online as I love their social content and find their imagery inspiring. Their packaging, branding and imagery were so innovative during the first few years. Now I think their product innovation is lacking and it's challenging for them to compete with new DTC beauty brands like Merit, Kosas, Tower 28, Saie, etc.

I have the sandwich size stasher bag. I like that they are reusable, dishwasher safe and pretty. I find the bag a bit hard to seal and definitely more expensive up front ($16 CAD for sandwich size) but then it's more sustainable than plastic. I'm interested to try other reusable bags to see if Stasher bags are better than competitors.

I love Diaspora's mission of paying spice farmers fairly and selling quality spices that are traceable to a region or specific spice variation (like you would for coffee or chocolate). Their spices are delicious and have so much flavour. They last a long time with regular use. I have also purchased their beautiful dish towels. It is great as a gift - the packaging, box and artwork are unique and lovely. You may have to wait for the product to become available, but I appreciate that the company is growing steadily and paying its farmers fairly.

I have 2 pairs of their compressive high-rise leggings in black. The first pair was when they first launched in 2016, and I got to try the leggings for free (plus shipping cost). They lasted me for 6+ years with regular wear, before the thread on the external seams started running. The material itself barely pilled even between the thighs. The colour barely faded and I still wear them! Then I bought my second pair of leggings in 2022. They are completely opaque & squat proof. They are supportive and make my butt look good and are stomach smoothing yet they are extremely comfortable and can be worn all day. They are a true high rise and don't need to be hiked up. I will continue repurchasing them! I also like that they don't have a logo on them.

I purchased the Big Sur After the Rain Candle, and a sample set with Durga, Atlantic Rose, Sweet do Nothing and Grapefruit Generation. The candle smells fresh, unique and amazing. It immediately lifts my mood. The scent lingers for hours. Perfume is very personal, but all I can say is that the samples I purchased feel more elevated and distinctive than traditional luxury scents. For example Grapefruit Generation is a stronger citrus than a traditional citrus like D&G light blue. I can almost smell the pith or grapefruit rind. My partner wears it daily. My favourite everyday summer scent is Sweet Do Nothing. But Durga will be kept for special occasions. For me it comes off a a white floral, but way more intoxicating and heady. I kept smelling myself haha. The website feels like a true brand experience. I love how they communicate the perfume through colour, music, feeling and mood.
