Such a unique concept. I love the idea of candle personalization. Also the candles have a clean look to them. They smell wonderful, but not super strong. Maybe because I purchased a smaller candle but would love the scent to radiate a bit more when lit. 

Please look into the tunneling and unboxing experience! 

I got the Scent Lab candle through Thingdrop and found the quiz fun and easy and the overall ordering experience great. I thought the candle came in a big too much packaging and I liked the little bag but overall I'm not sure if the presentation representing a more mid-tier price range for a candle. It felt like it could have been a bit nicer and more refined. The smell is amazing and the candle is a substantial size and weight which I appreciate! The candle is tunneling a bit and not burning that evenly which I was surprised to see. Other than the tunneling and presentation I am enjoying this candle and think it will make a nice gift and that giftcard for this company would be great. I have a hard time spending more than $36 for a candle but I would buy it for others if the unboxing was a bit nicer. 

In the spirit of seeing how good the AI technology on the website was, I went with the first recommended choice, even though it has a scent profile I wouldn't usually be attracted to, and I can say that I love it!

I didn't realize it's a two-wick candle, so that was an added surprise. I find the scent to be pretty strong and the wax burns to the edges. The price isn't the cheapest but also not the most expensive for the quality and burn time. I will definitely be back again!

The only feedback I have is to slim down the mix of intense scents. 

The ordering experience is pretty cool and unique, but the candle quality is not quite as expected. The mix of multiple scents was a bit overwhelming though.

I'm not in love with the scent; overly sweet to me.

Better AI responses from the quizzes to feel more custom, custom labels, cleaner wax pours into the vessels, better quality control for the wicks, and stronger scents. The idea is so unique and exciting but the execution is currently unremarkable. 

I ordered the set of three mini candles that were recommended for me after taking the quiz. Then I thought it would be fun to have my husband get a custom set of 3 as well since we have such different scent preferences. Unfortunately I didn’t end up ordering a set for him because despite basically no overlap in our answers, two out of the 3 candles were exactly the same which makes me think the “AI” needs some work or there are very few scent combos available for it to choose from at this time. 

My initial impression once I unboxed the candles was that the fabric pouches holding the candles and the custom tape on the box were nice higher end touches. Unfortunately my likes basically ended there. When ordering there’s an option to fill in “made for” and I thought that was going to be custom printed on the candle labels like that one high end scent company (iykyk) but I was disappointed that it was simply hand written on a card that came in the box. I also expected that the scent notes would be listed on the labels but instead you must scan a QR code on the card to see what each one is. Those things immediately prevented the candles from feeling unique, high end and custom. Despite the lackluster packaging I still had high hopes for the actual candles , but they didn’t wow me either. One candles wick was shorter than the others and coated in wax which made it hard to light, there were also visible air bubble holes in the surfaces of the candles. The scents themselves were very light, floral, clean smelling and nice but were almost indistinguishable. I lit each candle in separate small rooms and let them burn for 2.5 hours each waiting for the scent throw but I ultimately couldn’t smell any scent wafting in the air. 

The concept is certainly intriguing. Especially when I think about giving it to a friend as a gift (so they can create a candle that best fits their taste). Upon receiving the candle, I could smell its delicious fragrance, even while it was still in the box! It certainly smells great, is in a nice solid container (although the bottom and sides of mine were a bit scratched) and for the price, the size is good. 

From the way they market it, I thought that I would create my own scent entirely. Essentially, when you fill out the questionnaire, they tell you which of their blends would be a good fit for you. In some ways, this feels the same as picking out a candle scent from any candle company. There are no lack of handmade, soy candles out there, so I'm not sure that I would choose a company that uses AI technology over a small business. Especially at this price point. Also, for the price, I would have loved a lid. 

All in all, a good experience, but I don't find myself using this again.

Nice looking candle, I like the double wick. The scent is pretty nice but doesn't have a very long reach and is barely noticeable. The customized label feels a little cheap, and under designed. The touted "AI technology" feature is a simple quiz that will suggest a fragrance with a name like Blend No. 1223, making you believe the possibilities are in the thousands, when in reality it is picking out of a handful of options. Feels a little gimmicky, but at least it's reasonably priced.

I ordered 2 candles from them. 

It was a great price point and they lasted a long time. I would just like them to improve the vessels that they come in and have more customizable options.
