When you read stuff online about the SNOO, some people kind of snicker and say, "I would never let a robot take care of my baby, this is stupid expensive, WHY??"  But this ridiculous baby bed is like a robotic Mary Poppins. It's got swaddling capabilities, a gentle rocking motion, and a built-in white noise machine that'll drown out, say, a wonderfully psychotic terrier who hunts squirrels out of your living room window. 

For me, the SNOO has been a miracle worker, a sleep savior... and potentially the best $1000 I've ever spent. Because let's be real, sleep deprivation is no joke, and if you're not getting enough shut-eye, you're liable to start hallucinating unicorns and talking to your houseplants. 
 
Not sure if it was because my kids were easy babies or because of the SNOO, but both of them have been sleeping 10+ hours / night since they were 12 weeks old. The SNOO app is also very very good, and it helps you track how long your baby has been napping. Also you can rent the SNOO if you don't feel like paying the full price, but for me I was hoping for multiple kids and it made more sense to buy it.

Do I feel ridiculous for having this thing? 100%. 

Do I also think this insane robot baby bed made me less of a loony toon during those super difficult weeks 4-8 of a baby's life? Also yes. 

My daughter is almost 6 months now and we're about to transition her to a crib. On that transition day I'm going to pour a glass of whiskey, toast to my girl the SNOO, and thank her for her quiet and unwavering service.
