Fondfolio crafts customizable, handmade books designed to preserve memories by collecting thoughtful words and stories from loved ones.

When our friend Tyler turned 30, we helped his partner collect words from all his friends and family and together we made a book. We expected it would be fun, but didn’t anticipate the delight it generated, not just for Tyler, but for everyone involved. This joyful experience was the inspiration for Fondfolio.

We understand that it’s our good relationships that matter most in life and that there aren’t enough opportunities to tell our favourite people how much they mean to us. We also know that finding a good gift for them can be super daunting, especially if the occasion is significant — like a milestone birthday, retirement or anniversary. Tragically, it’s often not until someone is being eulogized that all those stories and fond memories surface.

Our mission is to facilitate meaningful gift giving for special moments and relationships. We want to help you give something memorable, something that your loved one will want to keep for years. Maybe it will even become a keepsake that’s passed down through the family. 

The side benefit of more thoughtful, personalized gift giving is a reduction in unwanted gifts. We hope Fondfolio will have a positive impact on both our relationships and our planet — we think a gift should be a delight, not a burden.

Everything about this gift was wonderful - ordering was very pleasant and we got all of our questions answered quickly. The design was lovely and the results were amazing. I was looking for something special for my dad‘s retirement. It needed to be touching and meaningful without being sappy. Through the platform provided, collecting peoples memories was easy and simple. I liked the pre-made templates for sending out the email as well as sending out reminders. The book itself is handsome and masculine. The wood has a nice weight and the engraving was personalized. Fiona clearly took her time and takes great pride in her craft. Thank you, Fiona. The whole journey from initially sending out the invites to her loved ones until the incredibly beautiful book showed up, couldn’t have been better and more well prepared. The final product turned out fantastic. Giving her a book this personal was a rewarding experience and turned out as the most special present she received on her day - and beyond. It’s a memory she will always be able to hold in her hand and she has told me that she has read all the personal stories already so many times.

Stumbled upon Fondfolio in pursuit of a unique 40th birthday gift for my wife, who loves books. It did not disappoint. Fiona was incredible, responsive, and helpful. And the overall experience was so easy to setup and manage. The website make it easy on you with helpful reminders. But the bulk of the value hits when the recipient opens it. We got stuck in traffic during our trip. So I had my wife open it while we were stuck in said traffic, and she spent the next couple of hours going through everything, completely moved. What a great gift and moment in time – best antidote to bad traffic I've come across. :)

The collaboration process for creating the book could have been improved as it was handled all over email, however the end result made the minor inconvenience very worth it.

I loved everything about my experience with Fondfolio. Their customer service is awesome and answered all my questions. The process is simple and straightforward, but still allows plenty of customization. And the final product...it's just amazing. The pictures, as gorgeous as they are, don't do these books justice. They are high quality! The prompts they ask your family/friends to complete are great too. They may seem a little unorthodox, but they really get people to open up. It was very moving to see what everyone wrote, and the book wasn't even for me! Well worth the money and the effort.

The book for my Mom's 80th birthday was a huge hit! She says it is the best gift she’s ever received. Her friends are still raving about it. The vintage scarf wrapper is an extra-special touch, especially for a life-long thrifter like her. She kept saying, “Once you reach my age, when there are no gifts that you really need, this book is perfect.
