Hi Shama! This is the founder and I just read your review, thank you so much. As a pastry chef background and loving sweets I wanted to create an indulgence people could eat everyday and feel good about putting in their body. I also have loved dates and wanted to showcase the deliciousness and versatility in them! 

received as a gift, which was fun. the dates themselves were good, but nothing particularly special. might not by for myself in the future, but enjoyed having them. 

Taste wise, these are fantastic. Crunchy, nutty, and chocolatey is a hard combo to beat. The only draw back is the price point! $7 for two dates is a hard pill to swallow.

Finally tried the variety pack and am so happy I did! These are crazy good and filling. I couldn’t eat more that one in a sitting. I thought the price was high until I saw the serving size. I feel like it’s actually a really good deal for what you get. It costs less than my usual healthy treats and tastes better. 

Love these so much.  Worth the treat to myself.

2 chocolate covered dates come in the beautifully packaged box with a plastic sleeve inside. They're delicious and super super rich

The packaging is really beautiful. I love chocolate covered dates but these did not do it for me much, I feel I can replicate at home considering the price point as well. But again, +1000 points for gorgeous branding. 

Loved their packaging and how it is showcased. Inside has 2 medium sized dates covered with chocolate and different flavors. Great for gifts which I would want to give to my friends. But one downside would be the price is a bit luxurious. If they were to put in a little more or put these in not a plastic bag but in a nice separated box, it would be an ideal gift! 

I really want to love these because the branding and packaging is SO CUTE. They're not bad by any means but they're not a memorable snack. For the price, I was definitely expecting more than just two in the box. I tried both Cashew Lime Crunch and Peanut Butter Crunch and wished the flavors were a bit more pronounced in both. I wouldn't turn them down if someone offered them to me but I also won't go out of my way to find these in stores again unfortunately. 

These are beautifully packaged and lovely luxurious snacks to include in a gift for a friend! They're also available at local boutiques in Austin, giving me an opportunity to support businesses in my neighborhood.

Fun party favor I was given on a bachelorette party! The chocolate was high quality and they made for a great snack on my travel day leaving the girls trip. You do not get very many for each box, which was alittle surprising when I opened it. But again, I was gifted the box so that didn't make a big impact on my review. 

I think these are so tasty and obviously love the packaging but I just wish there was more in the box for the price. I know dates can be expensive but these are generally pretty easy to make at home for a fraction of the price

Add at least one more date and add more filling maybe or punch up the flavor of the filling. 

I give Date Better major points for such beautiful packaging. But from there I was a bit disappointed! There are only two dates in the box which was $7.50 at the store I bought it. I definitely didn't think there would only be two. They are covered in chocolate and filled with the flavoring. The flavor I had was nice but kind of got lost in the flavor of the date. I would be open to trying another flavor but don't really see myself buying them again given the quantity and price point. 

$7 for two chocolate-covered dates is outrageous. But they are also very very tasty, and the packaging is gorgeous. 

Maybe I’m jaded and used to high prices, but for the complete experience and package of the product, I didn’t think the price was absurdly high for what it is. It is definitely on the higher end and I wouldn’t be able to buy this all the time, but would make a beautiful little gift.

I would also love to know more about the founders and their relationship to medjool dates. 

I loved the packaging and was immediately drawn to the concept - a lot of US-based chocolate and dessert companies have yet to use dates in their recipes and as someone who grew up eating them, I was excited to see something new in the space. 

The taste was rich and delicious and I love the different flavor profiles offered. 

I'd probably have it again, but the box of two dates was $7. It's definitely a treat and not an everyday buy.

WOW. I tried their Hazelnut Praline flavor and was blown away by how much it tasted like a Ferrero Rocher, sans the crispy bits. It's a healthy dessert to have around as well, as it has less than a gram of added sugar.



Would prefer to buy in a larger quantity for a bit less per date.

Date Better's dates are delicious and feel like a fancy treat. But you only get two per package and it feels very expensive for the money.

Not sure if this is how the packaging normally is but the dates inside my box were in a compostable plastic-y sleeve, but the sleeve wasn't sealed? I'm not even sure if I should have eaten them given that they're just in a paper box with an open plastic sleeve, but... they were $7 so I ate them. 

Definitely a luxury snack, would be a great gift for a date lover! Would I buy them again? Maybe, but only for a "special occasion" (not totally sure what special occasion calls for $3.50/date dates) or as a gift.

I was surprised by just how much of the peanut butter filling was in the dates! Honestly, it overwhelmed the actual date flavor a little bit, but I suppose if I wanted straight-up dates, I'd just eat a plain date.

Expensive? Yes. There are only two dates per package. I wish there was one or two more, but I understand that every step in the production process has people behind it, and everyone deserves to be paid a living wage. 

I saw these at the checkout counter of a local cafe (s/o Billie's Grocery in Kansas City), and I was intrigued by the peanut butter + date concept. Two things I love so much individually, so I just had to try. 

These are DELICIOUS! I wouldn't change anything about the flavor / size / packaging. I know that people have given feedback about the high price point and how there are only 2 dates per package. 

In my opinion, neither of these bother me for this product. These dates are big, dense and super sweet. I probably could eat a few more, but I don't think it would make sense for a large resealable bag. I would envision a pack of max 4. 

As for the price point, it wasn't that expensive in my opinion. It was around $7. I think this is about what you would pay for a high-quality pastry / dessert in a cafe.

Like other reviews, I agree these are expensive and I regular make these sweet treats at home. I would purchase again as a gift.
